Ang Bayan
''Ang Bayan'' (The Country) is the official news organ of the Communist Party of the Philippines, issued by the party's Central Committee. It describes the actions of party as well as its point of view on issues and events in the Philippines. It serves as the national publication of the CPP, with other regional publications focusing on specific regional news. ''Ang Bayan'' is published semimonthly on the 7th and 21st of each month with additional "special issues" when an important event occurs. It is always originally published in Filipino but is subsequently translated into English, Cebuano, Ilokano, Waray and Hiligaynon. New People's Army
The New People's Army ( fil, Bagong Hukbong Bayan), abbreviated NPA or BHB, is the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), based primarily in the Philippine countryside. It acts as the CPP's principal organization, aiming to consolidate political power from what it sees as the present "bourgeois reactionary puppet government" and to aid in the "people's democratic revolution". Founded on March 29, 1969, by the collaboration of Jose Maria Sison and former members of the Hukbalahap led by Bernabe Buscayno, the NPA has since waged a guerrilla war based on the Maoist strategy of protracted people's war. Gregorio Rosal
Gregorio Rosal (19 April 1947 – 22 June 2011) also known by his nom-de-guerre Ka Roger, was the leader of the Melito Glor Command of the New People's Army (NPA) in the Southern Tagalog region of the Philippines, and spokesperson of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) from 1994 until 2006. Early life Roger Rosal was the third of six children born to Pablo Rosal and Crispina Crusat, both of whom were sugar plantation workers. His brother and sisters were Nicetas, Bernardo, Felicidad, Emilia and Remedios. He was an honors student in Ibaan Elementary School and St. James Academy in high school, and did odd jobs, sold mosquito nets and worked as a jueteng collector for his livelihood. A mimeograph machine (often abbreviated to mimeo, sometimes called a stencil duplicator) is a low-cost duplicating machine that works by forcing ink through a stencil onto paper. The process is called mimeography, and a copy made by the process is a mimeograph. Mimeographs, along with spirit duplicators and hectographs, were common technologies for printing small quantities of a document, as in office work, classroom materials, and church bulletins. The First Great Rectification Movement refers to a 1965 ideological movement by Filipino communists led by Jose Maria Sison wherein they " criticized, repudiated and rectified the major ideological, political and organizational errors and weaknesses" of the 1930s-era Communist Party of the Philippines. This rectification movement led to the reestablishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines on December 26, 1968 along Marxist–Leninist–Maoist Thought.
