Anekdoten
Anekdoten is a Swedish progressive rock band, composed of guitarist/vocalist Nicklas Barker, cellist/keyboardist Anna Sofi Dahlberg, bassist/vocalist Jan Erik Liljeström and drummer Peter Nordins. They are notable for the use of the mellotron and their heavy sound dominated by a pounding bass guitar. Their music is associated with the tradition of 1970s progressive rock music, especially that of King Crimson. Since 2015 former The Church guitarist Marty Willson-Piper has been touring with the band. Chapters (Anekdoten Album)
''Chapters'' is a double album compilation by Swedish progressive rock band Anekdoten, released in May 2009. The first disc contains the band's favourite tracks from their 3 latest albums, '' From Within'', ''Gravity'' and ''A Time of Day''. It also features the newly recorded track "When I Turn", a track originally written for the ''From Within'' album. The second disc focuses on the band's earlier years, including the very first Anekdoten track "Sad Rain", which previously only was available as bonus track on the Japanese version of ''Vemod'', and demo versions of songs from ''Nucleus'' and ''A Time of Day''. Marty Willson-Piper
Marty Willson-Piper (born 7 May 1958) is an English guitarist and singer-songwriter best known as a former long-time member of the Australian psychedelic rock band The Church. He joined in 1980 after seeing an early gig where they were performing as a three-piece. He was an integral member of the band for 33 years. He was also the guitarist for the English alternative rock band All About Eve from 1991 to 1993 and again from 1999 to 2002. He has also worked with Swedish progressive rock band Anekdoten. Early life Willson-Piper was born in Stockport, Cheshire, on 7 May 1958 and grew up as a teenager in Thingwall. He has a brother and an adopted sister. When he was 3 years old the family moved from Compstall where his parents had a pub called The Commercial. Stefan Dimle
Stefan Dimle (born 7 June 1967 in Köping, Sweden) is the bass player in the progressive band Morte Macabre and he is a former member of Landberk and Paatos. He is the driving force in the company Mellotronen who also is the organiser of the floating rock festival named the Melloboat which are held aboard the ship Galaxy. Mellotronen runs the community Mello-Club at a café in Stockholm. Career During the 1980s Stefan Dimle was a member of several local rock bands in his former hometown Borlänge. One of the bands was Kajuku. Some members from that band are currently in Opeth and Anekdoten. 1986 Stefan Dimle started the rock club Mellotronen in Borlänge. King Crimson are a progressive rock band formed in 1968 in London, England.
