Kisaburō Andō
was a career officer and lieutenant general in the Imperial Japanese Army, who served as a politician and cabinet minister in the government of the Empire of Japan during World War II. Life and military career Born to an ex-''samurai'' family of Sasayama Domain in Hyōgo Prefecture, Andō graduated from the eleventh class of the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in 1899. In 1901, as a second lieutenant in the infantry, he served in the 10th Brigade of the Taiwan Garrison. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1904, and served as a company commander in the IJA 10th Infantry Regiment, and was subsequently promoted to captain, and to major in 1913. In 1918, Andō was sent as a military attaché to the United States, and was promoted to lieutenant colonel while on assignment. On his return, he served in the Personnel Bureau of the Minister of War of Japan, Ministry of War from 1921-1922. Andō Chikasue
was a Japanese ''daimyō'' of the Sengoku period, who was a powerful figure in the north half of Dewa Province. Chikasue was the son of Andō Kiyosue. Chikasue united Hiyama Ando and Minato Ando family who had been divided. And he obtained some mines, and ruled the Akita port directly. He changed the name of the clan from Andō to Akita, and was extolled as being like the Big Dipper in the northern sky. Kunitake Andō (安藤 国威, ''Andō Kunitake''; born January 1, 1942) Chairman of BJIT Limited, became president of Sony Corporation in June 2000, having been an employee of the company since 1969. On March 7, 2005 it was announced that he would step down to become an adviser, with Ryōji Chūbachi succeeding him as president. Andō is from Aichi Prefecture and graduated from University of Tokyo. Kozō Andō
was a Japanese university teacher known as a teacher of kendo. Andō was born in Ōgaki, Gifu on June 20, 1940, and began practising kendo at the age of 13 as a student when living in Yokkaichi. He eventually became captain of his university's team and advanced to 7th dan at age 27. Throughout his life, he remained shihan (senior teacher) at his university. He was also involved in kendo as a member of several bodies of the All-Japanese Kendo Federation ( ZNKR) and the All-Japanese Student Kendo Federation (ZNGKR). Andō authored several publications on kendo, one of which is still recognized as a standard textbook for German-language practitioners of the sport. , was an inventor and businessman who founded Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. He is known as the inventor of instant noodles (ramen noodles) and the creator of the brands Top Ramen and Cup Noodles. Early life and education Ando was born Go Pek-Hok () in 1910 into a wealthy family of Hoklo Chinese ethnicity in Chiayi County, when the island of Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule. He was raised by his grandparents within the city walls of Tainan following the deaths of his parents. His grandparents owned a small textiles store, which inspired him, at the age of 22, to start his own textiles company, using 190,000 yuan, in Tōa-tiū-tiâⁿ, Taipei. is a Japanese football player. Ando currently plays club football for the Urawa Reds. She previously played for the Japan national team before retiring in 2015. Club career Ando was born in Utsunomiya on 9 July 1982. In 2002, when she was a University of Tsukuba student, she left university club and joined Saitama Reinas FC (later ''Urawa Reds''). is a retired Japanese figure skater. She is the 2007 and 2011 World champion, 2011 Four Continents champion, 2004 World Junior champion, and a three-time (2003, 2004 & 2010) Japanese national champion. Ando is the first female skater to complete a quadruple jump successfully in competition. She accomplished this at the 2002–03 Junior Grand Prix Final in The Hague, Netherlands.
