Andy Thorn (American Football)
Andrew “Bro” Robert Thorn (born February 4, 1982) is a former American football tight end in the National Football League for the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Northern Iowa. Early years Thorn attended Waterford Mott High School, where he was a two-way player at tight end and defensive end. As a sophomore, he made 2 receptions for 15 yards. As a junior, he had 19 receptions for 270 yards, 3 touchdowns and received All-conference honors. As a senior, he collected 25 receptions for 450 yards, 6 touchdowns, 68 tackles and 3 sacks. He set a school record with 3 touchdown receptions in a single-game. He helped his team finish with a 6–4 record and qualify to the state playoffs for the first time in school history, while receiving second-team All-Metro and All-county honors. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Oliver Hoyte (born October 5, 1984) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at North Carolina State. Early years Hoyte attended Chamberlain High School, where was a three-time All-conference and a two-time All-state selection. As a senior he posted 153 tackles (98 solo) and 5 sacks, while helping the team reach the Class 5A state championship game. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style.
