Andy Owens
Andrew James Owens (born 15 October 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a forward for Macclesfield. Career Born in Liverpool, Owens began his career with his home town club Liverpool but later moved to Stoke City. After being released by Stoke he spent time with Stafford Rangers and Altrincham, before joining Welsh Premier League side Rhyl. He made his debut in a 3–1 defeat to Bangor City. A former member of the Glenn Hoddle Academy, Owens spent time on trial with Morecambe before joining Accrington Stanley in August 2010. He made his debut for the club on 21 August 2010 in a Football League Two clash with Macclesfield Town which ended in a 3–0 home win at the Crown Ground, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sean Hessey. It was announced by Accrington on 23 May that he would be released at the end of June 2011 when his current contract expired. Sean Hessey
Sean Peter Hessey (born 19 September 1978 in Whiston, Merseyside) is an English football manager and former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career During a career which spanned eighteen years, Hessey played for Liverpool, Leeds United, Wigan Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Kilmarnock, Blackpool, Chester City, Macclesfield Town and Barrow. Hessey had a fairly successful five-year spell at Scottish club Kilmarnock. The Crown Ground is a multi-use stadium in Accrington, Lancashire, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Accrington Stanley. Opened in 1968, the stadium has a capacity of 5,450. The ground is currently known as the Wham Stadium as part of a three-year £200,000 sponsorship deal with What More UK Ltd. Macclesfield is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. Morecambe ( ) is a seaside town and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire, England. It is in Morecambe Bay on the Irish Sea. Name The first use of the name was by John Whitaker in his ''History of Manchester'' (1771), when he refers to the "æstury of Moricambe". It next appears four years later in ''Antiquities of Furness'', where the bay is described as "the Bay of Morecambe". That name is derived from the Roman name ''Moriancabris Æsturis'' shown on maps prepared for them by ''Claudius Ptolemœus'' (Ptolemy) from his original Greek maps. The Glenn Hoddle Academy (GHA) was established in 2008, by former England international footballer Glenn Hoddle. Hoddle set the academy up in the memory of his brother, Carl, a former Tottenham Hotspur player who died aged 40. The academy coaching staff is made up of Glenn Hoddle and fellow former footballers Graham Rix, Nigel Spackman, Dave Beasant and John Gorman. Objectives The main objective of the academy is to get former Premier League and Football League Championship scholars back into professional football after being released by their various clubs. Glenn Hoddle came up with the idea of a football academy a long time before it actually opened. He had the idea for his academy while managing in the early 1990s.
