Andrew Roy Philip Hunter (born 25 July 1986) is a British former competitive swimmer and freestyler who represented Great Britain at the Olympics, FINA world championships and European championships, and Scotland in the Commonwealth Games. Hunter trained and studied at Millfield School from 2002 to 2004. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he swam for the British men's team in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay swimming, which came sixth in the event finals. Andrew Hunter (August 1864 in Joppa, Ayrshire, Joppa, Ayrshire, Scotland – 19 June 1888 in Australia) was a Scottish association football, footballer known for scoring Aston Villa's first goal in the FA Cup. He also played for Ayr Thistle F.C., Ayr Thistle, Third Lanark A.C., Third Lanark and Vale of Leven F.C., Vale of Leven, before coming to England. Like his more famous brother, Archie Hunter, Archie, who captained Aston Villa in the same period, he died young from a heart attack. Andy Hunter (11 October 1883 – 23 August 1933) was an Irish footballer who played as a forward Club career Hunter joined Distillery in 1904 having played youth football for Woodvale and Linfield Swifts, as well as the Royal Army Medical Corps . Hunter was part of the side that won the Irish Cup in 1905 and the Irish League in 1905–06, before joining Belfast Celtic F.C. in May 1907. After one season with Celtic, Hunter joined Glentoran for a season, before signing for The Wednesday in March 1909. Hunter scored his first goal for the English side in the 2–1 victory over Liverpool on 10 April 1909. Hunter returned for a loan spell at Distillery in the winter of 1909, returning to The Wednesday in the spring of 1910, where he scored two further goals in a 2–1 win against Blackburn Rovers. Drew Hunter (born September 5, 1997) is an American middle distance runner from Purcellville, Virginia, who competes for professional running group Tinman Elite. He set the national indoor mile record for high school boys in 2016. He was named Gatorade National Cross-Country Runner of the Year in 2016. He committed to the University of Oregon on November 12, 2015 but instead decided to pursue a professional career by signing a 10-year contract with Adidas on July 8, 2016. Andrew Robert Frederick Ebenezer Hunter (born 8 January 1943) is a British politician and a member of the Orange Order. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for Basingstoke from 1983 until 2005. From 1990 to 2001 he was Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Monday Club and was chairman as of 2008, succeeding Lord Sudeley. Early life Hunter is the son of RAF Squadron Leader Roger F Hunter by his marriage to Winifred M Nelson/Hunter. Andrew Hunter (1813–1902) was a noted Methodist preacher, sometimes referred to as "The Grand Old Man of Arkansas", "The Patriarch of Methodism", "The Nestor of Methodism in Arkansas", and "The Foremost Churchman in Arkansas". Biography Hunter was born in Ballymoney Antrim, Ireland, the son of John Hunter, a linen textiles manufacturer. His family immigrated to the United States in 1815, when he was 2 years old, settling in Little York, Pennsylvania. While his mother had been a member of the Presbyterian Church while in Ireland, her husband was not affiliated with any sect. His father died when Andrew was 8 years old after a long illness. Andrew Hunter of Barjarg FRSE (1743–1809) was a Minister in Edinburgh. He was Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1792, was Professor of Divinity at the University of Edinburgh and a Founding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Andrew Hunter, (d. 1638) Scottish minister and political agent. Andrew Hunter MA was minister of Carnbee and in 1588 Newburn in Fife. He was supporter of the rebel Francis Stewart, 5th Earl of Bothwell, and became his chaplain, which angered King James VI and he was exiled in May 1594. Henry Lok informed Sir Robert Cecil of his arrival in London in August. Hunter was an informer for Sir Robert Cecil, offering his opinions on Alexander Dickson, "ane enemie of your stait", and John Wemyss of Logie, "cunning", and sending information on the movements of Jesuits and underground Roman Catholic priests.
