Andrés Rodríguez Pedotti (June 19, 1924 – April 21, 1997) was a military officer and politician, being President of Paraguay from February 3, 1989, to August 15, 1992. He led the coup d'état on February 2 and 3, 1989, against the dictator Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda. 1989 coup d'état Rodríguez had been Alfredo Stroessner's closest confidant for 35 years. The two became so close that Rodríguez' daughter married Stroessner's elder son. Under Stroessner's rule, Rodríguez became one of the richest men in Paraguay. Despite only earning the equivalent of $500 per month, he owned the nation's largest brewery, a chain of currency exchanges, an import-export company, a copper wire company, and several ranches. Andrés Guillermo Rodríguez Fernández (born February 27, 1981) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player, who last played for Atenienses de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. He was born in Puerto Rico, where he debuted as a professional basketball played for the Criollos de Caguas in 1999. Rodríguez attended University of Louisville and American University, completing his college education in 2004. Afterwards, he migrated to Europe, where he first played for Olimpija Ljubljana and had his best season by leading the Liga ACB in assists per game in 2013 with Obradoiro CAB. Andres Rodríguez (11 May 1984 – 4 January 2016) was a Venezuelan businessman and an international show jumping competitor. He travelled between Caracas, Paris (where he was based during the summer season), and Florida (where he managed a competition horses facility). Rodriguez trained with rider and coach Eddie Macken. His achievements included the team silver medal at the 2005 Bolivarian Games, the team bronze medal at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, an individual silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games of Toronto, and subsequent qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Andrés Rodríguez de Villegas (1580–1631) was a Spanish soldier who served as governor and Captaincy General, captain-general of the Province of Isla Margarita, Venezuela (1619–1626) and as governor of Spanish Florida (1630–1631). Biography Early years Andrés Rodríguez de Villegas was born in 1580, in San Juan, Puerto Rico; he was the son of Antonio Rodríguez de Villegas, a Hidalgo (nobility), hidalgo, oidor and licentiate (holder of an advanced university degree). In 1604, Villegas joined the infantry of the Spanish Army#Under the Habsburgs, Spanish Army, where he spent 15 years.
