Andriivka, Myrne Settlement Hromada, Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast
Andriivka ( uk, Андріївка) is an urban-type settlement in Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. Population: History Construction on the Karan railway station near the site of modern Andriivka began in 1882, in the Russian Empire. A Soviet (council), Soviet council was created at the railway in 1919. During World War II, the station was captured by Nazi Germany. The Nazis used torture against railway workers who they saw as having connections to spies for the Soviet war effort. After the end of the war, Andriivka was officially founded in 1947 via the merger of the railway station and a village named ''Kyzyl Tash'' ( uk, link=no, Кизил Таш). It was assigned to Telmanove Raion. In 2014, after the beginning of the war in Donbas, Russia-backed militants took over most of Telmanove Raion, leaving Andriivka and a few other settlements in a strip of government-controlled land west of the Kalmius river, isolated from the rest of the raion. Sukhanivka ( uk, Суханівка), previously known as Andriivka ( uk, Андріївка, link=no) between 1938 and 2024, is a rural settlement (a selyshche) in Kramatorsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. Andriivka ( ) is a destroyed village in Bakhmut urban hromada, Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. It lies between the larger village of Klishchiivka to the north and the urban settlement of Kurdiumivka to the south. Andriivka had a population of 74 in 2001. It was completely destroyed during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. History On 30 November 2022, Russian forces occupied the village during the invasion of Ukraine. During the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive in the first week of July, Ukrainian troops were able to break through Russian defensive lines after a 10-day battle. On 18 July 2023 they had seized an elevated position in nearby Klishchiivka and on July 25 the 3rd Assault Brigade entered the heavily mined village of Andriivka, forcing the Chechen Akhmat Battalion to flee from both settlements. Andriivka ( uk, Андріївка, russian: Андреевка) is an urban-type settlement in Izium Raion of Kharkiv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located on the left bank of the Siverskyi Donets. Andriivka belongs to Donets settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: Until 18 July 2020, Andriivka belonged to Balakliia Raion.
