Andries Mahoney (born 29 January 1985) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with the . His regular position is scrum-half. Career Youth He played for the in the 1998 Under-13 Craven Week and progressed through the ranks, representing them at all youth levels up until 2006, when he played in the 2006 Under-21 Provincial Championship competition. Leopards In 2006, he was included in the senior squad for the 2006 Vodacom Cup competition and made his debut in the final game of the season against . He made 17 appearances in total for them in 2006 and 2007, but failed to establish himself and reverted to playing Varsity Cup rugby with his university side in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Klerksdorp () is located in the North West Province, South Africa. Klerksdorp, the largest city in the North West Province, is located southeast of Mahikeng, the provincial capital. Welkom () is the second-largest city in the Free State province of South Africa, located about northeast of Bloemfontein which is the provincial capital. Welkom is also known as Circle City, City Within A Garden, Mvela and Matjhabeng. The city's Sesotho name, ''Matjhabeng'' means 'where nations meet', derived from the migrant labour system, where people of various countries such as Lesotho, Malawi and Mozambique etc. met to work in the mines of the gold fields. A settlement was laid out on a farm named "Welkom" (which is the Afrikaans and Dutch word for "welcome") after gold was discovered in the region, and it was officially proclaimed a town in 1948.
