Andy Scott (guitarist)
Andrew David Scott (born 30 June 1949) is a Welsh musician and songwriter. He is best known for being the lead guitarist and a backing vocalist in the band Sweet. Following bassist Steve Priest's death in June 2020, Scott is the last surviving member of the band's classic lineup. Career Early career Scott started out playing bass guitar. His first gig was at St Peters Hall in Wrexham with The Rasjaks in November 1963 and then with other bands in Wales such as Guitars Incorporated and 3Ds. He then progressed to guitar and played with other bands including The Saints, The ForeWinds, and The Missing Links. In 1966 he joined The Silverstone Set (later shortened to The Silverstones), who won the TV show '' Opportunity Knocks'' five weeks running, and appeared in the all-winners show for Christmas 1966, losing to Freddie Starr. Andrew Horatio Scott (August 6, 1789 – March 13, 1851)Arkansas CourtsA Self-Guided Tour of Justice Building Portraits(2016), p. 9. was an American lawyer and politician who served as a Justice of the Supreme Court for the Arkansas Territory from 1819 until 1825. Scott was born in Hanover County, Virginia, and "eventually moved to Pope County, Arkansas Territory. After serving two terms as an Arkansas territorial judge, he failed to receive senate confirmation for a third. He was also a delegate to the first Arkansas Constitutional Convention of 1836. He killed Judge Joseph Selden in a duel as well as General Edmund Hogan. He died at Norristown, Pope County, Arkansas and is buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Russellville. Andrew John Scott , born 1958, was Director of the National Railway Museum in York, part of the National Museum of Science and Industry (NMSI) in England from 1994. His previous museum appointments (since 1984) had been with the West Yorkshire Transport Museum in Bradford, the Bradford Industrial Museum, and the London Transport Museum 1988–94. Before that he was an engineer in the public sector, having gained a BsC in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Mining Engineering, both at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Andrew Cunningham Scott (born 16 February 1952) is a British geologist, and professor emeritus at Royal Holloway University of London. He won the 2007 Gilbert H. Cady Award from the Geological Society of America for outstanding contributions to coal geology.
