Andrew S. Warner
Andrew Sylvester Warner (January 12, 1819 – December 26, 1887) was an American politician from New York. Life He was born on January 12, 1819, in Vernon, Oneida County, New York, the son of Andrew Warner (c.1791–1843) and Elizabeth C. (Young) Warner (b. c.1796). In 1837, the family removed to a farm in Sandy Creek, in Oswego County. On October 19, 1842, he married Mary Elizabeth Greene (d. 1859), and they had two sons. He was a Free Soiler in 1848, and joined the Republican Party upon its foundation. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Oswego Co., 2nd D.) in 1855 and 1856; and of the New York State Senate (21st D.) in 1860 and 1861. On October 3, 1861, he married Chloe Monroe (1840–1916), and their son was Wilbert Charles Warner MD (1864–1927). He fought in the American Civil War attaining the rank of colonel, but contracted typhoid fever and was discharged. Typhoid Fever
Typhoid fever, also known as typhoid, is a disease caused by '' Salmonella'' serotype Typhi bacteria. Symptoms vary from mild to severe, and usually begin six to 30 days after exposure. Often there is a gradual onset of a high fever over several days. This is commonly accompanied by weakness, abdominal pain, constipation, headaches, and mild vomiting. Some people develop a skin rash with rose colored spots. In severe cases, people may experience confusion. Without treatment, symptoms may last weeks or months. Diarrhea may be severe, but is uncommon. Other people may carry the bacterium without being affected, but they are still able to spread the disease. Cheney Ames (June 19, 1808 – September 14, 1892) was an American businessman and politician from New York. Life He was born on June 19, 1808, in Mexico, New York, the son of Leonard Ames (1775–1843) and Minerva (Peck) Ames (d. 1852). He became a hatter, first in Delphi, then in Cortlandville. On October 23, 1834, he married Emily North (1817–1848), and they had six children. In 1837, he removed to Oswego, and at first set up shop as a hatter, but then became engaged in other business, like grain and flour trade; the manufacture of limewater and plaster; a knitting factory; and the construction of the New York and Oswego Midland and other railroads. He was Postmaster of Oswego, New York, from 1849 to 1853. In 1854, he married Catherine "Kate" Brown (1832–1910), and they had four children. Sandy Creek is a town in Oswego County, New York, United States. The population was 3,939 at the time of the 2010 census. The name is derived from a creek in the area. The Town of Sandy Creek is in the northwestern part of the county. The village of Sandy Creek is located within the town. History Champlain passed through the town in 1615, leading a war party of Hurons and soldiers. The town was first settled around 1803, near Lacona. Sandy Creek was formed from the Town of Richland in 1825. In 1835, Sandy Creek resident Thomas Meacham decided to make the world's largest cheese as a gift to president Andrew Jackson. His finished product was 4 feet in diameter, 2 feet thick, and weighed nearly 1400 pounds.
