Andrew Paul (born Paul Andrew Herman; 17 March 1961 in Mile End, East London) is an English actor, known for portraying PC Dave Quinnan in the ITV drama ''The Bill'' for 13 years. Life and career Paul grew up in Manor House, North London, attending Clissold Park Secondary School, Hackney, from the age of 11. He played a member of a gang in " The Destructors", a 1975 episode of the TV series ''Shades of Greene''. At the age of 14, he enrolled at the Anna Scher Theatre School. He appeared in the film ''Bugsy Malone'' at 14 and in an episode of the police drama '' The Sweeney'' at the age of 16. In 1978, he played Paul Ross in Trevor Preston's innovative crime drama '' Out''. A year later, he took the background role of convict Betts in the cinematic re-make of the controversial borstal film '' Scum''. Mile End is a district of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the East End of London, England, east-northeast of Charing Cross. ''City Homicide'' is an Australian television drama series that aired on the Seven Network between 27 August 2007 and 30 March 2011. The series was set on the Homicide floor of a metropolitan police headquarters in Melbourne. The main characters were six detectives, who solve the murder cases, and their three superior officers. ''City Homicide'' did not return in its regular format in 2011. A six-episode mini-series titled '' No Greater Honour'' was shown instead which marked the closing storyline of the series. ''Slinger's Day'' is a British sitcom that aired for two series from 1986 to 1987, made by Thames Television for the ITV network. It was a continuation of '' Tripper's Day'', which had originally come to a natural end after Leonard Rossiter's death, and, despite the overwhelmingly negative response it had drawn from reviewers and a section of the viewing public, was revived this time with Bruce Forsyth as a different character to Rossiter but fulfilling the same role, that of the manager of a London supermarket with largely incompetent staff.
