Andrew Mercier
Andrew Mercier is a Canadian politician and trade unionist who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2020 British Columbia general election. He represents the electoral district of Langley (provincial electoral district), Langley as a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party. Prior to his election, Mercier held a variety of positions within the labour movement, most recently serving as the Executive Director of the B.C. Building Trades Council and as legal counsel for Teamsters Local 213. John Horgan
John Joseph Horgan (born August 7, 1959) is a Canadian politician who served as the 36th premier of British Columbia from 2017 to 2022, and also as the leader of the British Columbia New Democratic Party from 2014 to 2022. Horgan has been the member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the constituency of Langford-Juan de Fuca and its predecessors since 2005. Horgan was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. Langley (provincial Electoral District)
Langley is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Canada. The riding was first contested in the 1966 general election. The riding was created out of the Delta constituency in 1966. Until the election of 1991, it was considered a safe seat for the Social Credit Party. Since then, the BC Liberals have won the seat by significant margins in six consecutive elections. It returned one MLA from 1966 to 1986, two MLAs from 1986 to 1991, and one MLA from 1991 to the present day. Mary Polak
Mary Ruth Polak (born 1967 or 1968) is a Canadian politician, who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (MLA) for the riding of Langley from 2005 to 2020. She was re-elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in 2017, having represented the constituents of Langley since 2005 and was appointed Minister of Health on June 12, 2017 by Premier Christy Clark. The 2020 British Columbia general election was held on October 24, 2020, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly to serve in the 42nd parliament of the Canadian province of British Columbia.
