Andrew James Mercer (born 31 May 1979) is a former first class English cricketer. Mercer batted right hand and bowled right-arm fast medium. He was born according to records in Blackburn, Lancashire. Mercer represented the Lancashire Cricket Board in two List A matches against Oxfordshire and Scotland in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which were played towards the end of the 2002 season. Andrew Mercer (poet)
Andrew Mercer (1775–1842) was a Scottish poet and topographer. Life Mercer was born in Selkirk. Destined for the ministry of the Secession Church by his family, in 1790 he entered the University of Edinburgh. Ultimately he gave up theology, studied the fine arts, and tried unsuccessfully to make a living in Edinburgh as a miniature-painter and man of letters. He was acquainted with John Leyden and Alexander Murray. Settling in Dunfermline, Mercer lived by teaching and by drawing patterns for the damask manufacturers. In later life he suffered money troubles. He died at Dunfermline, 11 June 1842. Works Mercer's major work was a ''History of Dunfermline from the earliest Records'' (Dunfermline, 1828). There was also published under his name a ''Historical and Chronological Table of the Ancient Town of Dunfermline from 1064 to 1834'': an abridgment of a manuscript by Ebenezer Henderson, ''Annals of Dunfermline from the earliest Records to 1833''. Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer (born 25 May 1973) is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. He succeeded Papa Owusu-Ankomah, who had been MP for 20 years. Early life and education Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer was born in Sekondi in the Western Region of Ghana to James Mercer, a Ghanaian lawyer and diplomat. He attended Chapel Hill Preparatory School in Takoradi for his primary education. He proceeded to the Adisadel College in Cape Coast, where he obtained both his GCE Ordinary level and GCE Advanced level certificates. He gained entrance into the University of Ghana, graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Bachelor of Laws. Andrew Mercer (1829–1902) was Mayor of Dunedin 1873–1874.Mercer was born in Fifeshire in 1829. After an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker, he arrived in Port Chalmers aboard the Philip Laing in 1848. According to an 1848 letter home, Mercer intended for his father and other family to join him.
