Andrew Judge
Andrew Judge (born 6 February 1996) is a Canadian-born Australian representative rower. He is a four time Australian U23 national champion who represented at junior, U23 and senior World Championships. Club and state rowing Judge's senior club rowing in Australia was from the Sydney University Boat Club. In 2015 in SUBC colours Judge contested the U23 men's coxless four title and won the U23 men's eight championships title at the Australian Rowing Championships. In 2016 he rowed for the U23 coxless pair championship with Campbell Watts and also in a SUBC eight for the U23 men's eight championship. He contested those same events in 2017 placing 2nd in a composite Sydney Rowing Club/ SUBC U23 eight and placing third in the pair. In 2018 he again contested the U23 pair, the U23 eight and also the U23 coxless four. He was victorious in all three crews. Sydney University Boat Club
Sydney University Boat Club is the rowing club in Sydney, Australia with the oldest charter having been formed in 1860 by the founders of the University of Sydney. It has had a boatshed presence in various locations on Sydney Harbour since 1886, excepting between 1941 and 1966. A varsity and recreational club during most of its history, the Boat Club has since the 1990s had a focus on its high performance and elite rowing programs. Campbell Watts
Campbell Watts (born 10 November 1995) is an Australian rower. He is an Australian national champion who participated at the 2018 World Rowing Championships, where he won a silver medal. Club and state rowing Watts was educated at St Joseph's College Hunters Hill where he took up rowing. Watts' senior club rowing has been from the Sydney University Boat Club. He competed for the SUBC at the 2014 and 2015 Intervarsity Championships. In 2014 he rowed in the Sydney University eight and a coxed four and won both titles. In 2015 he competed in the coxed four and the eight and won a universities title in the eight. He debuted at state representative level for New South Wales in the 2015 youth eight which contested and won the Noel Wilkinson Trophy at the Interstate Regatta within the 2015 Australian Rowing Championships. Sydney Rowing Club
Sydney Rowing Club is the oldest rowing club in New South Wales, Australia formed in 1870. It has occupied its current site on Port Jackson's Parramatta River at Abbotsford Point since 1874. The club has a focus on its high performance and elite rowing programs and as of the 2021 Olympic Games, sixty-eight rowers from the club had competed at the Olympic Games rowing in one hundred and two of the seats raced by Australian Olympic crews. Over one hundred club members have achieved national selection. Club history A group of sportsmen interested in the advancement of amateur rowing met at the Oxford Hotel in Sydney on 6 March 1870 and the Sydney Rowing club was born. World Junior Rowing Championships
The World Rowing Junior Championships is an international rowing regatta organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation). A rower or coxswain shall be classified as a Junior until 31 December of the year in which he reaches the age of 18. After that date, he shall be classified as an Under 23 rower. During Olympic years it is held at the same location as the Senior World Rowing Championships. The first FISA Youth Regatta was held in 1967 and has been held every year since then, being raised to the status of FISA Junior Champs in 1970 and Junior World Champs in 1985. Many European countries send athletes not up to the standard for World Championships to the Coupe de la Jeunesse. Joseph O'Brien (rower)
Joseph "Jack" O'Brien (born 1 March 1998) is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion, has represented and won a silver medal at senior world championships and has won several gold medals at World Rowing Cups. He rowed in the Australian men's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Club and state rowing Born in Dubbo, New South Wales, O'Brien was boarding at Tudor House School in Bowral from an early age and then attended St Joseph's College Hunters Hill where he took up rowing. His senior club rowing has been from the Sydney University Boat Club. The World Rowing Championships is an international rowing regatta organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation). It is a week-long event held at the end of the northern hemisphere summer and in non-Olympic years is the highlight of the international rowing calendar. History The first event was held in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1962. The event then was held every four years until 1974, when it became an annual competition. Also in 1974, Men's lightweight and Women's open weight events were added to the championships. Initially, Men's events were 2000 metres long and Women's events 1000 metres.
