Andrew Birch (cricketer)
Andrew Charles Ross Birch (born 7 June 1985) is a South African cricketer who plays for the Warriors cricket team. Early life Birch hails from the small Eastern Cape town of Dordrecht. He was educated at St Andrew's College in Grahamstown, before further his studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth. His grandfather Ernest Birch played first-class cricket for Border in the 1940s and his elder brother Colin Birch played for Western Province. Playing career Birch represented South Africa at the 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh. He also represented the South African Students team whilst at NMMU. He made his first-class debut for Eastern Province in January 2005 against Griqualand West in the UCB Provincial Cup. East London, Eastern Cape
East London ( xh, eMonti; af, Oos-Londen) is a city on the southeast coast of South Africa in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality of the Eastern Cape province. 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2004 ICC Under-19 World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament played in Bangladesh from 15 February to 5 March 2004. It was the fifth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the first to be held in Bangladesh. The 2004 World Cup was contested by sixteen teams, including one (Uganda) making its tournament debut. After an initial group stage, the top eight teams played off in a super league to decide the tournament champions, with the non-qualifiers playing a separate "plate" competition. Pakistan and the West Indies eventually progressed to the final, played at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, where Pakistan won by 25 runs to claim their maiden title. 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League
The 2018–19 BPL season, also known as BPL 6 or UCB BPL 2019 Powered by TVS (for sponsorship reasons), was the sixth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top level professional Twenty20 cricket franchise league in Bangladesh. The competition was organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), featuring seven teams from seven cities. Teams are restricted to having four overseas players per side, instead of five in the previous edition of the tournament. Rangpur Riders were the defending champions. Originally, the season was scheduled to start on 1 October 2018 and end on 16 November 2018. 2018 Mzansi Super League
The 2018 Mzansi Super League was the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) Twenty20 (T20) franchise cricket tournament in South Africa. It started on 16 November and finished on 16 December 2018. Six teams played a total of thirty-two matches. The players' draft took place on 17 October 2018, with more than 200 international players expressing their interest to take part. On 18 October 2018, it was announced that Global Sports Commerce (GSC) is the official international commercial and broadcast partner from 2018 up to 2022. On 30 October 2018 it was announced that the Mzansi Super League 2018 champions will receive prize money of ZAR7 million and the runners up will receive R2.5 million, the player of the tournament received R100 000, and each player of the match won R15 000. Tshwane Spartans
Tshwane Spartans were a city-based franchise team of the South African Mzansi Super League (MSL) Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team was based at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Tshwane Spartans played in the first two editions of the MLS in 2018 and 2019, before COVID-19 delayed the competition in 2020. The side finished as runners up in 2019 but were dissolved in 2021 in response to the reform of the domestic structure of South African cricket. All six of the original city-based franchise teams in the Mzansi Super League were to have been replaced by eight new teams based around the new South African domestic structure, but the league itself was later cancelled and replaced by a new franchise competition, the SA20, beginning in the 2022/23 season. Simon Harmer
Simon Ross Harmer (born 10 February 1989) is a South African international cricketer. He plays for South Africa primarily as an off-break bowler but is also a capable lower order batsman. He plays domestic cricket for Titans. Biography Harmer debuted for Warriors in the 2010–2011 first class season against the Cape Cobras claiming 5/98 in the first innings and 1/53 in the second innings to go along with his 46 and 69 runs with the bat. He became a regular fixture in Warriors side in the 2011–2012 side, ending the season as leading wicket taker in his full rookie season, claiming 44 wickets.
