Andrejs Osokinsis a Latvian pianist. He is laureate of several piano competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv, the Long-Thibaud International Competition in Paris, the Leeds International Piano Competition and the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition in Brussels. In April 2015 he became the Audience Awardee of the 5th International German Piano Award presented by International Piano Forum. In 2009 Osokins was awarded with The Grand Music Award 2008,which is the highest form of state recognition in the field of music in Latvia. Orchestre Philharmonique De Radio France
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France is a French radio orchestra, affiliated with Radio France. The orchestra performs principally at the auditorium of the Maison de la Radio in Paris, along with several concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris. History ''Radiodiffusion Française'' established the orchestra in Paris in June 1937 under the name of the ''Orchestre Radio-Symphonique'', under the auspices of ''Les Postes, Télégraphes et Téléphones'' (PTT) and its minister, Robert Jardillier. The orchestra was initially under the direction of Rhené-Baton, who guided the orchestra until his death in 1940. Eugène Bigot subsequently directed the orchestra musicians through the 1944 Liberation. Margarita Balanas (born 30 September 1993) is a Latvian concert cellist and conductor. Career Balanas won her first international competition at age eight, and made her concert debut in London at Wigmore Hall at age 17. She has performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London, and at Corum as part of the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier with her sister Kristine Balanas. Balanas has appeared as a soloist with Iași "Moldova" Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Gabriel Bebeselea. Appearing with Carlos Izcaray conducting the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto Casa da Música, she performed Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme in 2015. She performed with Lynn Harrell at the Adelaide International Cello Festival in 2014. Her playing was favorably noted. Kristīne Balanas (born May 8, 1990) is a Latvian violinist who is a laureate of many international violin competitions. Early life and education Balanas received her first violin lessons at the age of seven with Olita Meldere. She later attended the Emīls Dārziņš Specialist Music School and studied with Romans Šnē. Balanas studied with Professor György Pauk at the Royal Academy of Music in London for her undergraduate degree, and graduated with a Master of Arts in 2014. From 2014 to 2015, she was an Artist-in-Residence at Buckingham University. James Judd
James Judd (born 30 October 1949, Hertford) is a British conductor. James Judd grew up in Hertford, learning the piano, flute and organ as a child and discovering his talent for conducting at high school. He studied at the Trinity College of Music in London. After graduating Judd was an assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra under Lorin Maazel, after which he served as associate music director of the European Union Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado. Judd made his U.S. opera debut in 1988 conducting Don Giovanni for the Florida Grand Opera. Judd was the last full-time music director of the Florida Philharmonic, from 1987 to 2001. Yuri Simonov
Yuri Ivanovich Simonov (russian: Ю́рий Ива́нович Си́монов; born 4 March 1941 in Saratov, Soviet Union) is a Russian conductor. He studied at the Leningrad Conservatory under Nikolai Rabinovich, and was later an assistant conductor to Yevgeny Mravinsky with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra. Simonov first conducted at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1969, and was named chief conductor of the company in February 1970, the youngest chief conductor in the company's history at that time. He held the post until 1985. In 1986, he established the USSR Maly State Orchestra, and subsequently made several commercial recordings with the ensemble. Marin Alsop ( mɛər.ɪn ˈæːl.sɑːp born October 16, 1956) is an American conductor, the first woman to win the Koussevitzky Prize for conducting and the first conductor to be awarded a MacArthur Fellowship. Life and career Elder was born in Hexham, Northumberland, the son of a dentist.
