Andrea Sawatzki
Andrea Sawatzki (; born 23 February 1963) is a German actress. From 2002 to 2010 she starred in the Hessischer Rundfunk version of the popular television crime series ''Tatort'' as police inspector ''Charlotte Sänger''. She also gained some international prominence as a co-actor in the German films ''Bandits'' (1997) and ''Das Experiment'' (2001). Life and work Sawatzki is the daughter of a nurse and a journalist. She has lived with actor Christian Berkel since 1997. The couple has two sons and live in Berlin. After studying at the ''Neue Münchner Schauspielschule'' (Munich acting school) and doing an internship at the Munich Kammerspiele, Sawatzky played in theaters in Stuttgart, Wilhelmshaven and Munich from 1988 to 1992. Christian Berkel (born 28 October 1957) is a German actor. He is known for his appearances in '' Downfall'' (2004), ''Valkyrie'' (2008), ''Inglourious Basterds'' (2009) and ''The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'' (2015). Life and career Berkel was born on 28 October 1957 in Berlin. His father had been a military doctor in World War II. His Jewish mother fled to Argentina and returned to Germany after the end of the war. From the age of 14 Berkel lived in Paris where he took drama lessons with Jean-Louis Barrault and Pierre Berlin. He then trained at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin and appeared on stage in Augsburg, Düsseldorf, Munich, Vienna and at the Schiller Theater. Bella Germania ("Beautiful Germany" in Italian) is a 2019 German 3-part miniseries directed by Gregor Schnitzler, based on Daniel Speck's 2016 book of the same name. The series, consisting of three 90-minute episodes, narrates a German-Italian family story through three generations over 65 years (1954-2019).
