Andrea Rizzoli
Andrea Rizzoli (Milan, September 16, 1914 - Nice, May 31, 1983) was an Italian entrepreneur, publisher and film producer. He was the son of Angelo Rizzoli, president of the publishing house RCS MediaGroup, the first Italian publishing group in the seventies. In 1974, Andrea bought for 50 billion Liras, a huge sum at the time, The Group Editoriale Corriere della Sera. Thereby, he acquired a 100% stake in the paper owned until then by the Crespi family, Angelo Moratti and Giovanni Agnelli. Between 1954 and 1963 Rizzoli was the owner and president of A.C. Milan. During his presidency Milanello sports center was built and the club won 4 Italian Leagues, 1 Latin cup and 1 European Champions Cup. He was the father of Angelo Rizzoli. Milanello Sports Centre ('' it, Centro Sportivo Milanello''), commonly referred to as simply Milanello, is the training facility of Italian football club A.C. Milan. Built in 1963, the centre consists of , including a pinewood and a little lake. It is located between the towns of Carnago, Cassano Magnago and Cairate, in the province of Varese, about 40 km northwest of Milan. Milanello currently represents an important asset not only for the Milan Club, but for the whole Italian football system. This was indeed the objective pursued by Andrea Rizzoli who decided to build it. Angelo Rizzoli (1943-2013)
Angelo Rizzoli, OML (; 31 October 1889 – 24 September 1970) was an Italian publisher and film producer. Early life Rizzoli was born in Milan on 31 October 1889. Orphaned at a young age and raised in poverty, he rose to prosperity. He apprenticed in the printer trade and later became an entrepreneur in his twenties. Career In 1927, Rizzoli founded the company ''A. Rizzoli & Co.'' (later RCS MediaGroup). In 1927 Rizzoli acquired ''Novella'' magazine, a bi-weekly primarily for women that reached a circulation of 130,000 copies, from ''Mondadori'' an independent publisher who specialized in books and magazines. After his initial purchase, he added several new publications including ''Annabella'', ''Bertoldo'', ''Candido'', ''Omnibus'', and ''Oggi e L'Europeo''. Giovanni Agnelli
Giovanni Agnelli (13 August 1866 – 16 December 1945) was an Italian businessman, who founded Fiat car manufacturing in 1899. Early life The son of Edoardo Agnelli and Aniceta Frisetti, he was born in 1866 in Villar Perosa, a small town near Pinerolo, Piedmont, still the main home and burial place of the Agnelli family. His father, mayor of Villar Perosa, died at age 40, when Giovanni was just five. Angelo Moratti (5 November 1909 – 12 August 1981) was an Italian oil tycoon and the former owner of Inter Milan from 1955 to 1968. Biography In 1962, after a long history in the oil business, Moratti founded Saras S.p.A., an energy multinational corporation with operations in petroleum refining, marketing, transportation, and power generation.
