Andrea Portera is an Italian composer of contemporary music. Biography Andrea Portera studied at Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, following the composition course with Salvatore Sciarrino at the same time. He studied at School of music in Fiesole (Florence) with Kamran Khacheh and perfectioned himself with Giacomo Manoni. He won many composition contests. He was also at international contests: for example the International pianistic contest "Camillo Togni", the Gian Battista Viotti contest, the Franco Evangelisti contest, the Castello di Belveglio contest, the Dino Ciani and the Valentino Bucchi prize that won for him a silver medal from the President of Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. The Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini is located in piazza delle Belle Arti in Florence. The conservatory, among the most important in Italy, is named after the Florentine composer Luigi Cherubini (1760–1842). Milena Vukotic (, ; born 23 April 1935) is an Italian former ballerina and a stage, television, and film actress. Biography Vukotic was born in Rome, to a Serb Montenegrin comedy playwright father and an Italian pianist/composer mother. As a child she studied acting and classical dance, in Italy and France. Albert Mayr
Albert Mayr (born 1943 in Bolzano) is an Italian composer of experimental and contemporary music. He studied music and composition in three different cities: at conservatories in both Bolzano and Florence and at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse in German. In 1965, Mayr graduated in music and choral singing at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini. From 1963 to 1969, Mayr worked with Pietro Grossi at "Fonologia Musicale's study" in Florence and received commissions from the musicologycal division of CNUCE/CNR. He received commissions from Südtiroler Künstlerbund, from "Brixner Iniziative Musik und Kirche" and from Sound Art at Mobius, Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities. Acousmatic music (from Greek ἄκουσμα ''akousma'', "a thing heard") is a form of electroacoustic music that is specifically ''composed'' for presentation using speakers, as opposed to a live performance. It stems from a compositional tradition that dates back to the introduction of musique concrète (a form of musique expérimentale) in the late 1940s. Unlike musical works that are realised using sheet music exclusively, compositions that are purely acousmatic (in listening terms) often exist solely as fixed media audio recordings.
