Andrea Gardini
Andrea Gardini (born 1 October 1965) is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player, a silver (Atlanta 1996) and bronze (Sydney 2000) Olympic Games medallist, three–time World Champion (1990, 1994, 1998), and four–time European Champion (1989, 1993, 1995, 1999). Gardini was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2007. Personal life His son, Davide (born 1999) is also a volleyball player. Career As a coach In 2011, he became an assistant coach of Andrea Anastasi in the Polish national volleyball team. On 10 July 2011, they led Poland to a bronze medal of the 2011 World League, the nation's first ever World League medal. On 18 September 2011, Poland, led by Anastasi and Gardini, won a bronze medal at the 2011 European Championship. In the same year, their team won a silver medal at the 2011 World Cup and qualified for the Olympic Games London 2012. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle
ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in southern Poland, founded in 1994. They compete in the Polish PlusLiga. ZAKSA have won nine league titles, nine Polish Cups, and two Champions League titles, which makes them one of the most successful clubs in Poland. The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics was the 10th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organized by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Sydney, Australia from 17 September to 1 October 2000. FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's and women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was created in 1993 after radical changes made on the biggest tournaments organised by the FIVB. The main goal was not to have a single year without two high-profile world-level volleyball competitions, alongside the pre-existing men's and women's world championship, men's and women's world cup and the volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games which are all quadrennial and the annual men's and women's Nations League. The World Grand Champions Cup is therefore played quadrennially the year after the Olympic Games and is always hosted by the Japan Volleyball Association. The 1995 FIVB Men's World Cup was held from 18 November to 2 December 1995 in Japan. Twelve men's national teams played in cities all over Japan for the right to a fast lane ticket into the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The first three qualified. FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup
The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Initially the tournament was played in the year following the Olympic Games, except for 1973 when no tournament was held, but since 1991 the World Cup has been awarded in the year preceding the Olympic Games. The current champion is Brazil, which won its third title at the 2019 tournament. The current format of the competition involves 12 teams, including the automatically qualifying host nation Japan, competing in the tournament phase for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about two weeks. The World Cup (with exception of the 2019 edition) acts as the first qualification event for the following year's Olympic Games with the top two teams qualifying.
