Andrea Aromatico
Andrea Aromatico (born on 22 September 1966) is an Italian historian, Art history, art historian, journalist, essayist, writer and expert in Hermeticism, Hermetic iconography and Western esotericism, esotericism. Career Aromatico was born in Urbino, educated at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of University of Urbino. He is manager of the historical archives for the Region of Province of Pesaro and Urbino, Pesaro-Urbino, Italy. He has worked for various Italian public and private organisations and was responsible for a scientific exhibition dedicated to alchemy in Urbino in 1998. He has taught at the University of Perugia where he gave seminars and special courses. From 1999 to 2001, he was professor of art history at Ludes University of Lugano and was director of external relations at the same university since 2000. Splendor Solis
''Splendor Solis'' ("The Splendour of the Sun") is a version of the illuminated alchemical text attributed to Salomon Trismosin. This version dates from around 1582. The earliest version, written in Central German, is dated 1532–1535 and is part of the Kupferstichkabinett Berlin collection at the State Museums in Berlin. It is illuminated on vellum, with decorative borders like a book of hours, meticulously painted and highlighted with gold. The later copies in London, Kassel, Paris and Nuremberg are equally fine. ''The Alchemist Discovering Phosphorus'' is a painting by Joseph Wright of Derby originally completed in 1771 then reworked in 1795. Pietro Longhi (1702 or November 5, 1701 – May 8, 1785) was a Venetian painter of contemporary genre scenes of life. Biography Pietro Longhi was born in Venice in the parish of Saint Maria, first child of the silversmith Alessandro Falca and his wife, Antonia. He adopted the Longhi last name when he began to paint.
