Andre Sayegh
Andre Sayegh (born 1974) is an American politician who has served since 2018 as the Mayor of Paterson, the third-most populous city in New Jersey. Prior to being elected as Mayor, Sayegh served on the Paterson City Council from 2008 until 2018. Biography Sayegh was born in Paterson, the son of a Syrian mother and a Lebanese father. A practicing Roman Catholic, he was raised in the Lakeview neighborhood of Paterson. Sayegh graduated from DePaul Catholic High School in 1992. He graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. in History; and then earned a M.A. in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University. Sayegh began his public service by serving on the Paterson school board and then in 2008, as a city councilman representing the 6th Ward. Negro League Baseball
The Negro leagues were United States professional baseball leagues comprising teams of African Americans and, to a lesser extent, Latin Americans. The term may be used broadly to include professional black teams outside the leagues and it may be used narrowly for the seven relatively successful leagues beginning in 1920 that are sometimes termed "Negro Major Leagues". In the late 19th century, the baseball color line developed in professional baseball, excluding African Americans from league play. In 1885, the Cuban Giants formed the first black professional baseball team. New Jersey Attorney General
The attorney general of New Jersey is a member of the executive cabinet of the state and oversees the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Department of Law and Public Safety. The office is appointed by the governor of New Jersey, confirmed by the New Jersey Senate, and term limited. It is the only state where the attorney general is apppointed as opposed to elected. Under the provisions of the New Jersey State Constitution, the Attorney General serves a concurrent term to the governor (starting on the third Tuesday of January following the election and ending on the third Tuesday following the next election).
