Andre Maddox
Andre Maddox (born October 8, 1982) is an American football defensive back. Professional career Drafted in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the New York Jets as a special teams player, Maddox was reunited with college teammate Jerricho Cotchery, who had been drafted by the Jets the previous year. However, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in training camp his rookie year. Maddox was released by the team on September 2, 2006 following training camp, and was later added to the Jets' practice squad on December 13. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings and was allocated to play for the Rhein Fire (NFL Europe), Rhein Fire of NFL Europa. Sean Taylor
Sean Michael Maurice Taylor (April 1, 1983 – November 27, 2007) was an American football safety for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected fifth overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Redskins, where he played four seasons until his murder in 2007. As a high school player, Taylor led Gulliver Prep to a Florida state championship and set the state record for single-season touchdowns. Taylor played college football at Miami, where he was a member of the 2001 BCS National Championship team and won the Jack Tatum Trophy. With the Redskins, he gained a reputation as a hard-hitting player and was nicknamed "Meast" from the expression "half man, half beast." He made one Pro Bowl appearance in 2006. During the 2007 season, Taylor was shot by intruders at his Miami area home and died the next day on November 27. The Rhein Fire was a professional football team in the NFL Europe, formerly the World League of American Football. Established in Germany in 1995, the franchise resurrected the name of the former Birmingham Fire team which was active during the 1991–1992 WLAF seasons. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style.
