Michael Andre Lewis, aka Mandré, (December 7, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska – January 31, 2012 in Shreveport, Louisiana) was an American musician known for his synthesizer recordings at Motown. As Andre Lewis he also contributed to Labelle's '' Moon Shadow'' and Whitney Houston's ''Just Whitney''. He toured or recorded with Grant Green, The Who, Labelle, Buddy Miles Band, Maxayn, Rufus, White Chocolate, Earth Wind and Fire and Frank Zappa. He was also band leader for Johnny Guitar Watson. His debut single as Mandré "Solar Flight (Opus I)", was a hit from a self-titled debut album ''Mandré''. He formerly played with his band Maxayn Maxayn was an American soul group of the 1970s. Andre Lewis (footballer)
Andre Lewis (born 12 August 1994) is a Jamaican professional footballer who currently plays for Hartford Athletic in the USL Championship. Career Club Lewis began his career with Cavalier, he later played football for Jamaican club Portmore United before being spotted by MLS scouts and was entered in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. On 16 January 2014 Lewis was selected in the first round (7th overall) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He was loaned to Vancouver's USL Pro affiliate Charleston Battery. He made his debut on 29 March 2014 in a 2–2 draw against Richmond Kickers. In 2019, Lewis returned to Jamaica with Portmore United. On 9 January 2020, Lewis moved back to the United States, joining USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks. On 18 January, 2022, Lewis signed for USL Championship side Hartford Athletic. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is Canada's oldest ballet company and the longest continuously operating ballet company in North America. History It was founded in 1939 as the "Winnipeg Ballet Club" by Gweneth Lloyd and Betty Farrally (who also founded the ballet school The Canadian School of Ballet in British Columbia). The name was changed to the "Winnipeg Ballet" in 1941 and the company began touring Canada in 1945. In 1948, with the initiative of the Winnipeg Ballet, the Canadian Ballet Festival was formed. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet was granted its royal title in 1953, the first granted under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It completed its first American tour in 1954.
