Andre Jones Jr.
Gerald "Andre" Jones Jr. (born October 25, 1998) is an American professional football defensive end for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and was selected by the Commanders in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft. Early life and college career Jones Jr. was born on October 25, 1998, in Varnado, a village in Washington Parish, Louisiana. He attended Varnado High School, where he played football and basketball. As a senior, he recorded 78 tackles, 6 sacks, a forced fumble, and blocked punt in football, earning him All-State and All-District honors. Jones also caught 12 catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns as a tight end. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
