Andra Nikolić
Andra Nikolić ( Belgrade, Principality of Serbia, 5 October 1853 — Paris, France, 28 September 1918) was a Serbian politician, jurist, writer, literary historian and academic. Biography His parents were Josif Nikolić, a municipal clerk, and Natalija Marković (maiden name) the sister of politician Stefan Marković. Andra was brought up in a typical Serbian, late 19th-century middle-class environment. After completing his gymnasium, he studied law at ''Visoka škola'' ( Grandes écoles) in Belgrade where he graduated in 1873. His first published work "The Economic State of Serbia in 14th-Century" brought him immediate recognition and fame. After entering the civil service, he formed an alliance with Stojan Protić and Lazar Paču and the trio became one of the closest political associates and personal colleagues in the Serbian government. Ljubomir Kaljević
Ljubomir Kaljević (1841, Užice – March 20, 1907, Belgrade) was a Serbian politician and academic who served as the Prime Minister of Serbia. Biography Kaljević completed Gymnasium in Belgrade and studied the state sciences in Heidelberg and Paris. Upon his return to Serbia he published from 1867 to 1870 newspaper ''Serbia'', the only opposition newspaper to Prince Mihailo Obrenović around which gathered all the liberal intelligentsia. Kaljević was first elected as a member of parliament in 1871. He began to publish political newspaper ''Future'' in 1873. He was Minister of Finance from 25 November 1874 to 20 January 1875. Kaljević was Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs from 26 September 1875 to 24 April 1876. Jovan Avakumović
Jovan Avakumović (1 January 1841 – 3 August 1928) was a Serbian lawyer, criminologist, statesman, and Prime Minister of Serbia. Biography Born in Belgrade, a descendant of a respected Serbian merchant family of Baba-Dudići, Avakumović was a nephew of General and Royal Regent Jovan Belimarković. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, and studied law and state science (1862–1868) in Germany, French, and Switzerland. He was a member of the Liberal Party. In 1873 he was appointed the First Secretary of Cassation, and in 1875 mayor of Belgrade, then head of the police department of the Ministry of the Interior in the Liberal government of Stevča Mihailović until 1880. Ljubomir Stojanović ( sr-cyr, Љубомир Стојановић, sometimes mentioned as ''Ljuba Stojanovic'') (6 August 1860, Užice – 16 June 1930) was a Serbian politician, philologist and academic. Biography Stojanović was a philologist and historian, who graduated from the School of Philosophy at the Grandes écoles ( sr, Велика школа, the ''Grandes Écoles''). After studies in Belgrade he went on to post-graduate studies in Vienna, St. Petersburg and Leipzig. At first a grammar school professor, he was appointed university professor at his ''alma mater'', the Grandes éecoles (1891-1899). Jovan Žujović
Jovan M. Žujović (Serbian Cyrillic: Јован M. Жујовић; 18 October 1856 – 19 July 1936) was a Serbian anthropologist, known as a pioneer in geology, paleontology and craniometry in Serbia. Biography After studying in Paris, he returned to Serbia and became the first Serb to scientifically research geology of Serbia and at the time neighbouring countries. Before Žujović, only two other scientists showed any interest in geology of Serbia, Johann Gottfried Herder and Ami Boué. Žujović was named among the first four members of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Serbian Royal Academy by King Milan I of Serbia on 5 April 1887. Ljubomir Davidović
Ljubomir Davidović (24 December 1863 – 19 February 1940) was a Yugoslav and Serbian politician who served as prime minister (1919–1920 and 1924) of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later called Yugoslavia). Biography Davidović was born in a village in the Kosmaj Oblast. He graduated from the science and mathematics department of the College of Arts and Sciences of the Velika škola in Belgrade. In 1901, he became a member of the Serbian Parliament and played a part in founding the Independent Radical Party, whose leader he eventually became in 1912.
