Andimadam is a town in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the blocks in the Ariyalur district and Taluk (from 16-09-2016) in the Ariyalur district "Land Of Cement", Tamil Nadu, India. It has three State Highways running across. Demographics As per the 2011 census, Andimadam had a total population of 6,165 with 3,107 males and 3,058 females. Andimadam is located 50 km away from Ariyalur, the main city of the district. Ariyalur District
Ariyalur district is an administrative district, one of the Districts of Tamil Nadu, 38 districts in the Indian state, state of Tamil Nadu in India. The district headquarters is located at Ariyalur. The district encompasses an area of 1,949.31 km². Brihadisvara Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Gangaikonda Cholapuram, built by King Rajendra Cholan of Chola Empire, is a World Heritage Site, UNESCO World Heritage site situated in this district. The district is also known for its rich prehistoric fossils. Many fossils of gigantic molluscs and jawed fishes, at least one fossilized dinosaur egg, and several fragmentary fossils of Sauropoda, sauropod and Theropoda, theropod dinosaurs have been discovered here. Gangaikonda Cholapuram
Gaṅgaikoṇḍa Chōḻapuram is a village located near to Jayankondam, Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It became the capital of the Chola dynasty in c. 1025 by Chola emperor Rajendra I, and served as the capital for around 250 years.
