Andie Rathbone
Andrew "Andie" Rathbone (born 8 September 1969 in Chester) is an English drummer and former member of the rock band Mansun. Rathbone grew up in Blacon, Chester and played in various local bands including "The Wandering Quatrains" and "Jonti" and " The DNA Cowboys".Having studied at Tech Music School in Fulham, London, he attracted the interest of Mansun with his playing and flamboyant look. Rathbone initially turned the band down due to commitments with "The DNA Cowboys " and because he thought they played "Britpop shite". Also working as an Audi Car salesman at the time, he later had a change of heart after the band's bass player Stove King played him a demo of their new song "Wide Open Space". Rathbone joined Mansun shortly before their debut album ''Attack of the Grey Lantern'' was finished. Stove King
Steven William "Stove" King (born 8 January 1974 in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire) is an English musician, formerly the bassist for the rock band Mansun. King formed Mansun with Paul Draper, with whom he shared an interest in graphic design. A cajón (; "box", "crate" or "drawer") is a box-shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru, played by slapping the front or rear faces (generally thin plywood) with the hands, fingers, or sometimes implements such as brushes, mallets, or sticks. Cajones are primarily played in Afro-Peruvian music (specifically música criolla), but has made its way into flamenco as well. The term cajón is also applied to other box drums used in Latin American music, such as the Cuban cajón de rumba and the Mexican cajón de tapeo. Blondie is an American Rock music, rock band co-founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. ''Kleptomania'' is the fourth and final album by English rock band Mansun, released posthumously in September 2004, following the band's split, as a triple album. The first CD features the material that was to form the basis of the band's next album, which was originally going to be self-titled, and the other 2 CDs feature EP tracks, outtakes and demos. The band split up while recording songs for the album ''Kleptomania'', leaving unfinished tracks that were never released. An extensive explanation of the break-up has never been made public although a press release by Paul Draper stated that the band had simply "grown apart". EMI had originally not intended to release the material until an online petition, which gained over 4000 signatures, demonstrated that there was demand for it from fans. "Stripper Vicar" is a song by Chester rock band Mansun released in 1996. It was the lead track of ''Three EP'' and was the band's fifth release overall. The single was the group's first with the group's new drummer, Andie Rathbone. The EP became Mansun's first top twenty hit peaking at #19 on the UK Singles Chart. ''Three EP'' was released on Two CDs, and 7" Vinyl. "Stripper Vicar" and "An Open Letter To The Lyrical Trainspotter" were included on the group's début album, though the single was left off US editions. ''TFI Friday'' is an entertainment show that was broadcast on Channel 4 television in the United Kingdom. It was produced by Ginger Productions, written by Danny Baker, and hosted by Chris Evans, for the first five series. The sixth series was hosted by several guest presenters. The show was broadcast on Fridays at 6pm from 9 February 1996 to 22 December 2000, with a repeat later that night. Its theme tune was Ron Grainer's theme from ''Man in a Suitcase'', in keeping with Evans' frequent use of 1960s television themes in his work. A one-off revival episode of the show was broadcast on Channel 4 on 12 June 2015. ''Attack of the Grey Lantern'' is the debut album by English alternative rock band Mansun released in February 1997 via Parlophone. The album spent a total of 19 weeks on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at number one. Background According to Mansun's '' Kleptomania'' liner notes, frontman Paul Draper states that "Take It Easy, Chicken" was their first song and the band really did not know how to play their instruments, let alone play as a band, when DJs Steve Lamacq and John Peel started to play the song on BBC Radio 1. Through 1996 and 1997, Mansun released "Egg Shaped Fred" (which was re-recorded for the album to include new drummer Andie Rathbone), "Stripper Vicar", "She Makes My Nose Bleed" and "Taxloss" (styled Taxlo$$).
