''Andha Yudh'' is a 1987 Indian action drama thriller film directed by Dayal Nihalani. Plot The story revolves around an evil politician a junior minister who plots the murder of the chief minister through a hired killer. After the assassination of the chief minister, the killer is pursued by an idealistic dedicated police chief. The killer takes shelter in a house where a physically challenged girl is residing. The killer takes her as hostage. The killer remembers his past and how an above average student was converted to a killer. Though the film had no songs, the background music for the film, especially for the chase sequence, was lauded by the critics. The 34th Filmfare Awards were held in 1988, after a 2-year gap. ''Tezaab'' led the ceremony with 12 nominations, followed by ''Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'' with 11 nominations and ''Khoon Bhari Maang'' with 7 nominations. ''Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'' won 8 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (for Mansoor Khan), Best Male Debut (for Aamir Khan) and Best Female Debut (for Juhi Chawla), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony and catapulted Khan and Chawla to superstardom overnight. Ajit Singh Varman ( hi, अजीत वर्मन; 26 March 1947 – 15 December 2016), sometimes also credited as Ajit Verman, was an Indian film music composer. Vasant Deo (1929-1996) was an Indian writer, lyricist and screenwriter and a Hindi academic at Parle College in Mumbai. He worked in Hindi parallel cinema through the 1980s, working with directors like Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani and Mahesh Bhatt. He is best known for "Saanjh Dhale Gagan Tale" sung by Suresh Wadkar, and "Mann Kyun Behka", a Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle duet in ''Utsav'' (1984) directed by Girish Karnad.
