Anders Hansen Grønneberg
Anders Hansen Grønneberg (1779 – 30 October 1819) was a Norwegian Naval officer and farmer who served as a representative at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly in 1814. Anders Grønneberg was born on Ødelund in Berg parish at Brunlanes in Vestfold, Norway where his father was district sheriff. In his youth he had stayed with an uncle in London, where he learned to speak English, as well as German and French. As a young man, Grønneberg was a sailor. During the Napoleonic Wars, he was appointed Lieutenant in the Royal Norwegian Navy. Later he settled on the family farm. He represented Larvik grevskap at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly in 1814, together with Iver Hesselberg and Ole Olsen Amundrød. Norwegian Constituent Assembly
The Norwegian Constituent Assembly (in Norwegian ''Grunnlovsforsamlingen'', also known as ''Riksforsamlingen'') is the name given to the 1814 constitutional assembly at Eidsvoll in Norway, that adopted the Norwegian Constitution and formalised the dissolution of the union with Denmark. In Norway, it is often just referred to as ''Eidsvollsforsamlingen'', which means ''The Assembly of Eidsvoll''. The Assembly The election started in February 1814 in Christiania (now Oslo) in order to draft the Norwegian Constitution. Brunlanes
Brunlanes is a parish and former municipality within Larvik municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It was annexed by Larvik on January 1, 1988. The administrative centre of the municipality was located in the adjacent villages of Nevlunghavn and Helgeroa. Arguably the best soil in Vestfold County can be found in Brunlanes, and farming is the main industry with considerable vegetable- and corn cultivation. It is home to Berg Old Church at Berg, which was erected in the 1100s, but laid in ruins by the 1960s. The church had been rebuilt and features a clear-cut architecture with a red tilestone roof. Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. Iver Hesselberg
Iver Hesselberg (4 November 1762 – 26 January 1838) was a Norwegian businessman who served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Iver Magnussen Hesselberg was born at Larvik in Vestfold, Norway. He was the son of merchant Magnus Hesselberg (ca. 1729-ca. 1780). In his youth he went to sea and became a skipper. He later settled on Brekke at Tjølling in Vestfold. He was the owner of a shipyards at Hølen in Akershus. He also operated several ships principally for the transport of grain. He was married in 1801 with his cousin Anna Catharina Cecilia Heegaard (1769-1826) with whom he had two sons, Magnus (1804-1877) who served as a member of the Norwegian Parliament and Hans Jørgen (1810-1864). Ole Olsen Amundrød
Ole Olsen Amundrød (30 May 1771 – 24 March 1835) was a Norwegian farmer and schoolteacher. He served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Ole Olsen Amundrød was born on the farm Ousby (today Østby Søndre) at Tjølling in Vestfold, Norway. In 1801 he was appointed schoolmaster, a position he retained until 1810. In 1808, he married Ingeborg Maria Kristoffersdatter (1791-1855). In 1813, the couple took over her family farm, Ommundrød in Tjølling. They also ran an inn on the farm. They were the parents of eight children. After his death, his widow ran the farm until 1842 when she sold it to her son Ole Kristian Olsen and son in law Nils Nilsen.
