Anders Fredriksen
Anders Fredriksen (born 17 February 1981 in Fredrikstad) is a retired Norwegian professional ice hockey player, who played several seasons for Vålerenga in GET-ligaen. Club career Early career He moved to Sweden as a 17-year-old, and started playing for Frölunda in the Swedish junior league, J20 Superelit. After having 42 points in 39 matches during the 1999–2000 season, he signed with Tingsryd in HockeyAllsvenskan. Skellefteå On 15 May 2001, it was announced that Fredriksen would leave Tingsryd for the ambitious Northern Swedish team Skellefteå, along with Daniel Ström and Pasi Mustonen. Vålerenga Before the 2003–04 GET-ligaen season, Fredriksen decided to move back to Norway and play for Vålerenga Ishockey. After having three straight 40+ points seasons, he had 58 points in 45 matches in the 2009–10 GET-ligaen season, and finished sixth in the point statistics. The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Centres have more flexibility in their positioning and therefore often end up covering more ice surface than any other player. Norway Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The Norway men's national junior ice hockey team is the national junior ice hockey team in Norway. The team represents Norway at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF World U20 Championships. International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. The IIHF Hall of Fame was founded in 1997, and has been located within the Hockey Hall of Fame since 1998. The 2000 IIHF World Championship was held in Saint Petersburg, Russia from 29 April to 14 May. Qualification This was the final year for qualifying rounds (except 'Far East'). Five teams advanced out of the eight that participated in the two European groups.
