Anders Eldebrink
Anders Karl Daniel Eldebrink (born 11 December 1960) is a former ice hockey defenceman in the SEL in the 1970s and 1980s. He also played 165 games for the Swedish national team. Playing career Eldebrink began his career at age 16 in 1976 in the Swedish Elite League. Playing for Södertälje SK, he was named player of the year in 1985 and MVP in 1988 and 1989. They won the league championship in 1985. Later he played in Switzerland for EHC Kloten, winning the league championship in 1993, 1994, and 1995. He also played two NHL seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and Quebec Nordiques. Internationally, he was on the 1984 and 1987 Swedish Canada Cup teams, which made the final in 1984; the IIHF World Championships gold medal team in 1987; and the Olympic Bronze medal team in 1988. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). 1984 Canada Cup
The 1984 Labatt Canada Cup was a professional international ice hockey tournament played during the first three weeks of September 1984. The best-of-three final took place between Canada and Sweden, with Canada winning a two game sweep. Canadian forward John Tonelli was named the tournament's most valuable player. This was the only Canada Cup to feature a team from West Germany, who managed a single point in five games based on a 4–4 tie with Czechoslovakia. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. Despite the use of the terms "primary assist" and "secondary assist", neither is worth more than the other, and neither is worth more or less than a goal. Goal (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. Robert Nordmark
Robert Ingemar Nordmark (born 20 August 1962) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player. He was the head coach for Almtuna IS in Allsvenskan (the Swedish second division) in the 2007–08 season, but he was replaced by Leif Boork in November 2007 because of poor results. He is a European scout of the Toronto Maple Leafs and used to be a European scout for the Edmonton Oilers. Nordmark is a cousin of former athlete Kenth Eldebrink and former ice hockey defenceman Anders Eldebrink. Playing career Nordmark was drafted 191st overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, after helping Sweden to their first gold medal at the World Junior Championships in 1981. Kenth Eldebrink
Kenth Eldebrink (born 14 May 1955 in Morjärv) is a retired Swedish athlete who mainly competed in the men's javelin throw event. He competed for Sweden at the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, California, where he won the bronze medal in the men's javelin throw event. He retired in 1986. Felix Hollenstein
Felix Hollenstein (born April 7, 1965) is a former Swiss ice hockey player, who became four times Swiss champion with the EHC Kloten in the Nationalliga A. In his career, Hollenstein played 650 matches in the NLA and 131 for Switzerland men's national ice hockey team, where he scored 47 goals. Playing career Felix Hollenstein began his career in the EHC Bülach, for which he played until 1985. He was then transferred to the EHC Kloten, where he stayed for the rest of his active career. Between 1993 and 1996 he won four titles with his team. In 1996 he became the best scoring Swiss during the playoffs. Kloten Flyers
EHC Kloten is an ice hockey team based in the city of Kloten in Switzerland. The team plays in the National League (NL). It has one of the best youth systems in Swiss ice hockey as its youth teams have won 19 championships during the last 50 years. EHC Kloten won four consecutive Swiss championships from 1993 to 1996. They had never been relegated until the 2017–18 season. They returned to the NL following the 2021-22 season. The team was called the Kloten Flyers between 2000 and 2016. Vladimir Yurzinov
Vladimir Yurzinov (born February 20, 1940 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a retired ice hockey player who played as a centre in the Soviet Hockey League. He played for HC Dynamo Moscow. He was inducted as a player into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963. After his playing career Yurzinov started coaching. He was the coach of HC TPS from 1992 to 1998 and despite Hannu Jortikka having more championships, Yurzinov is widely considered the most legendary and successful coach of TPS by the team's supporters. The Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame was created 2011 to honor those individuals who have contributed to Swedish ice hockey. The Hall of Fame includes notable players, coaches, referees and other personalities. The first inductees were honored in 2011 and are recorded with an inductee number.
