And It Stoned Me
"And It Stoned Me" is a song by Northern Ireland, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It is the opening track on his 1970 solo album, ''Moondance''. Composition and recording "And It Stoned Me" was recorded in summer 1969 at Warner Publishing Studio in New York City. As Morrison biographer Ritchie Yorke described it, the song remembered "how it was when you were a kid and just got stoned from nature and you didn't need anything else". Van Morrison
Sir George Ivan Morrison (born 31 August 1945), known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades. He has won two Grammy Awards. As a teenager in the late 1950s, he played a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, keyboards and saxophone for several Irish showbands, covering the popular hits of that time. Known as "Van the Man" to his fans, Morrison rose to prominence in the mid 1960s as the lead singer of the Northern Irish R&B and rock band Them. With Them, he recorded the garage band classic " Gloria". Under the pop-oriented guidance of Bert Berns, Morrison's solo career began in 1967 with the release of the hit single "Brown Eyed Girl". John Platania
John Platania is a session musician, guitar player, and record producer. He was born in 1948 in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, in Ulster County, near Woodstock. Career Van Morrison Platania is best known for his work with Van Morrison, beginning on ''Moondance'', and most recently on 2016's '' Keep Me Singing''. In 1973 he toured with Morrison as a member of his band at the time The Caledonia Soul Orchestra. The double live album ''It's Too Late to Stop Now'' was released in 1974, which included songs from three nights of the tour. Platania also co-wrote two songs with Morrison, on his compilation album of out-takes '' The Philosopher's Stone'', as well as playing guitar on several of the tracks on disc one. Gary Mallaber
Gary Mallaber (born October 11, 1946 in Buffalo) is a Los Angeles session drummer, percussionist and singer. He attended Lafayette High School, where he and Bobby Militello, along with other musicians, were mentored by saxophonist Sam Scamacca. Mallaber got his start playing drums in a Buffalo band known as Raven. Mallaber was the drummer-percussionist and backing singer for the 1980s band Kid Lightning, who released an album with Gerard McMahon in 1981 entitled '' Blue Rue''. Mallaber plays keyboards and sings on many albums by well-known rock artists. Jef Labes is an American keyboardist and musician. He is best known from his work with Van Morrison and Bonnie Raitt. Jef Labes has also arranged for string and woodwind instruments on numerous albums. Career Labes started his recording career with the Boston-based Apple Pie Motherhood Band, playing piano and organ on the albums ''Apple Pie & Motherhood'' (1968), composing four of the tracks himself and ''Apple Pie'' (1969), this time composing one track. The band split up later in 1969 and would not make another album. In the same year Labes moved to Woodstock to join Van Morrison as a live musician. ''Live at Montreux 1980/1974'' is the first official DVD by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was released on 16 October 2006. The films consist of two separate performances by Van Morrison at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. It was certified gold in May 2007 and platinum in June 2009. Joseph Benjamin Higgs (3 June 1940 – 18 December 1999) was a reggae musician from Jamaica. In the late 1950s and 1960s he was part of the duo Higgs and Wilson together with Roy Wilson.
