Anbu Engey
''Anbu Engey'' () is a 1958 Indian Tamil-language drama film, directed by D. Yoganand and produced by V. Govindarajan. Its story was written by Murasoli Maran and screenplay by Rajendra. The film stars S. S. Rajendran, K. Balaji, Pandari Bai and S. V. Ranga Rao, with Devika, T. R. Ramachandran, Manorama and Mynavathi in supporting roles. It was released on 12 December 1958. Plot The story revolves around a rich man Masilamani Mudaliar who has two sons Ramu and Somu, and a daughter Kamu. Masilamani is a gambler, the elder son Ramu is a womaniser and alcoholic. He, however, ends up marrying a traditional woman Amudha, who takes it upon herself to reform the family. Murasoli Maran
Murasoli Maran (17 August 1934 – 23 November 2003) was an Indian politician and an important leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party which was headed by his maternal uncle and mentor, M. Karunanidhi. A Member of Parliament for 36 years, he was made a Union Minister in three separate central governments, in charge of Urban Development in the V.P. Singh government, Industry in the Gowda and Gujral governments, and finally Commerce and Industry under Vajpayee. Apart from being a politician, Maran was a journalist and scriptwriter for films too. Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram (13 April 1930 – 8 October 1959) also known as Pattukottaiyar was an Indian Tamil poet and lyricist. Considered to be the most popular Tamil lyricist of the 1950s, he is particularly remembered for the philosophy-tinged lyrics he penned for M. G. Ramachandran’s movies. Radha (born 1932) and Jayalakshmi (1932 - 2014), popularly known as Radha Jayalakshmi ( ta, ராதா ஜெயலட்சுமி), were an Indian Carnatic music vocalist duo as well as playback singers in films in the 1940s and 1950s.
