Anatoly Ionov (Romanov Claimant)
Anatoly Ionov (born 1936) is a Russian man who claims to be the son of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. Claim The Imperial Russian family was killed by Bolsheviks on July 17, 1918. Ionov claims that Anastasia and her brother Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich of Russia were rescued and hidden by loyalists to the monarchy in the Russian Urals. Alexei soon died, but the loyalists brought Anastasia to ataman Alexander Dutov, a monarchist. Dutov could not take Anastasia with him when he retreated to Siberia because of her weakened physical condition. Instead, Ionov claims Anastasia was turned over to Ksenia Karetnikova, the wife of the People's Commisar Semen Budenny. Karetnikova supposedly sent Anastasia to her parents, who claimed she was their daughter Anastasia Yakovlevna Karetnikova. Alexei Nikolaevich (russian: link=no, Алексе́й Никола́евич) (12 August .S. 30 July1904 – 17 July 1918) was the last Tsesarevich (heir apparent to the throne of the Russian Empire). He was the youngest child and only son of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. He was born with haemophilia, which his parents tried treating with the methods of a peasant faith healer named Grigori Rasputin. After the February Revolution of 1917, the Romanovs were sent into internal exile in Tobolsk, Siberia. After the October Revolution, the family was initially to be tried in a court of law, before the intensification of the Russian Civil War made execution increasingly favorable in the eyes of the Soviet government. Ataman (variants: ''otaman'', ''wataman'', ''vataman''; Russian: атаман, uk, отаман) was a title of Cossack and haidamak leaders of various kinds. In the Russian Empire, the term was the official title of the supreme military commanders of the Cossack armies. The Ukrainian version of the same word is ''hetman''. Alexander Ilyich Dutov () (, Kazalinsk, Russian Empire – 7 February 1921, Shuiding, China) was one of the leaders of the Cossack counterrevolution in the Urals, lieutenant general (1919). Dutov was born in Kazalinsk in Syr-Darya Oblast (now Kazaly in Kazakhstan). Romanov Impostors
Members of the ruling Russian imperial family, the House of Romanov, were executed by a firing squad led by Yakov Yurovsky in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on July 17, 1918, during both the Russian Civil War and near the end of the First World War. Afterwards, a number of people came forward claiming to have survived the execution. All were impostors, as the skeletal remains of the Imperial family have since been recovered and identified through DNA testing.
