Anatoli Volkov
Anatoli Volkov (born 8 March or February 1 1948) is a former professional tennis player from the Soviet Union. Career Volkov had his first singles win in a Grand Slam match at the 1971 French Open, where he beat Jaime Fillol in the first round. He also reached the third round of the men's doubles, with Toomas Leius. He took part in the tennis demonstration event at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Leius would partner Volkov again at the 1970 Summer Universiade, in the men's doubles. They won a silver medal. Volkov made the second round of the French Open once more in 1975, defeating Jose Mandarino in the opening round. In the mixed doubles he managed to reach the quarter-finals. His partner was Romanian Mariana Simionescu. He played a Davis Cup tie for the Soviet Union in Jūrmala in 1975, against Sweden. Svetlana Germanovna Parkhomenko (russian: Светлана Германовна Пархоменко, née Cherneva, ; born October 8, 1962) is a retired Soviet Union, Soviet and Russian tennis player and tennis coach. She was the winner of the Soviet singles tennis championships in 1985 and nine times Soviet champion in women's doubles and mixed doubles. The Russia women's national tennis team represented Russia in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Russian Tennis Federation. They compete in the World Group. Following the 2020 ban of Russia by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), it competed and won the 2020–21 Billie Jean King Cup under the RTF flag and name. The Helvetia Cup or European B Team Championships was a European mixed team championship in badminton. The first Helvetia Cup tournament took place in Zurich, Switzerland ). Birger Andersson (tennis)
Nils Birger Lennart Andersson (born 26 March 1951) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. Biography Andersson is best remembered for his performances for Sweden when they won the 1975 Davis Cup, the country's first title. Still a rookie, he had played professionally for only a few months before he got the Davis Cup call up. Up until the final he occupied the No. 2 singles position, behind Björn Borg. Although he didn't play in the final, he was responsible for Sweden making it that far, as he twice won the fifth and deciding match of a knockout tie. For his feats during the tournament he was given the nickname "Bragd-Birger". In the Europe Zone quarter-final against West Germany, he defeated Karl Meiler in straight sets, to win the tie for Sweden. Björn Borg
Björn Rune Borg (; born 6 June 1956) is a Swedish former world No. 1 tennis player. Between 1974 and 1981, he became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles with six at the French Open and five consecutively at Wimbledon. Borg won four consecutive French Open titles (1978–81) and is 6–0 in French Open finals. He was the first man since 1886 to contest six consecutive Wimbledon finals, a record surpassed by Roger Federer's seven consecutive finals (2003–09). Jūrmala (; "seaside") is a state city in Latvia, about west of Riga. Jūrmala is a resort town stretching and sandwiched between the Gulf of Riga and the Lielupe River.
