Anatharu
''Anatharu'' ( en, italic=yes, Orphans) is a 2007 Indian Kannada action drama film directed by Sadhu Kokila and is the Kannada remake of the 2003 Tamil film '' Pithamagan''. Upendra Rao (known mononymously as Upendra; born 18 September 1968) is an Indian actor, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter and politician who works primarily in Kannada cinema. Upendra has also worked in Telugu films . He started his film career as a writer and an assistant director with actor and film director Kashinath. ''Pithamagan'' () is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film written and directed by Bala. The film stars Vikram, Suriya, Laila and Sangeetha. Based on Jayakanthan's short story ''Nandhavanathil Oru Aandi'', it revolves around a man who grew away from civilisation with minimal human contact, and as a result is animalistic. ''Pithamagan'' was released on 24 October 2003. The film became very successful and Vikram won the National Film Award for Best Actor.
