Anastasia Dobromyslova
Anastasia Petrovna Dobromyslova-Martin (russian: Анастаси́я Петро́вна Добромы́слова; born 26 September 1984) is a professional darts player. She is a three-time Women's World Professional Darts Champion of the British Darts Organisation (BDO). After winning her first title in 2008, Dobromyslova decided to join the rival male-dominated Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to play in their World Championship in 2009. After rejoining the BDO in 2011, she won her second World Championship in 2012 and a third in 2013. Dobromyslova uses the song "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence. She carries the name From Russia with Love, although she has stated herself that it is not an official nickname. She is more commonly known as just Anastasia due to the difficulty English-speaking commentators and announcers have pronouncing her surname. Tver ( rus, Тверь, p=tvʲerʲ) is a city and the administrative centre of Tver Oblast, Russia. It is northwest of Moscow. Mieke De Boer
Mieke de Boer (born 11 January 1980 in Maastricht, Limburg) is a former darts player from the Netherlands, who was nicknamed Bambie. Career In 2002 she won the Women's World Darts Trophy, beating Karin Krappen in the quarter-finals and then Francis Hoenselaar in the semi-finals before beating Crissy Manley in the final. She also won the British Open Ladies Singles the same year. A year later, de Boer was the youngest competitor at the BDO World Darts Championship in Frimley Green and reached the semi-finals, beating Linda Rogers-Pickett in the quarter-finals before her run was ended by Ladies World Champion Trina Gulliver. She returned to the Lakeside a year later but lost in the quarter-finals to Hoenselaar. Her last major tournament was the 2005 World Darts Trophy, losing in the quarter-finals to Karin Krappen. 2008 Zuiderduin Masters
The 2008 Zuiderduin Darts Masters was a darts competition held from December 12 to December 14, 2008, in Egmond aan Zee, Netherlands, run by the British Darts Organisation and the World Darts Federation. Having been an unranked event in previous years, it was installed as a major tournament in the BDO/WDF darts calendar, following the disbanding of the International Darts League and the World Darts Trophy. Also, for the first time, a women's competition was held. In the men's event, number one seed Gary Anderson defended his title with a 5–4 win over number two seed, Scott Waites. Robert Thornton (darts Player)
Robert "Bob" Thornton (born 17 July 1967) is a Scottish professional darts player, who is the current World Seniors champion. Thornton is a three-time major winner between the BDO and PDC, having won the World Masters in 2007, UK Open in 2012, and World Grand Prix in 2015. He is also a former finalist at the Players Championship Finals in 2009 and Grand Slam of Darts in 2013. In addition, Thornton has reached three World Championship quarter-finals across both organisations and was a participant in the Premier League in 2013, 2014 and 2016. The 2008 Blue Square UK Open was the sixth year of the PDC's UK Open darts tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. Irina Armstrong (russian: Ирина Армстронг) née Loginova (born 6 December 1970) is a Russian-born German female professional darts player who currently plays in the World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Her biggest achievement to date was advanced to semi-finals in the 2011 BDO World Darts Championship. She is a gold medalist in pairs competitions during the WDF World Cup and WDF Europe Cup. Career Armstrong started out playing ten-pin bowling until she was pregnant and decided to pick up darts. From then, she has quickly risen to be one of the top women players in the world. WDF World Cup
The WDF World Cup is a major darts tournament organized by the World Darts Federation and has been held biennially since 1977. The tournament has featured men's events since the beginning, while women's events were added in 1983 and youth events in 1999. The 2019 World Cup was held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
