Anandalok Puraskar or Anandalok Awards ( bn, আনন্দলোক পুরস্কার ) ceremony is one of the most prominent film events given for Bengali Cinemas in India. The ''Anandalok'', only film magazine in Bengali language, published from Ananda Publishers and Ananda Bazar Patrika presents this Award (Puraskar). ''Anandalok'' ( bn, আনন্দলোক ) is a Bengali film magazine published by the ABP Group from Kolkata, India. It is usually published on the 12th and 27th of every month. ''Anandalok'' started on 25 January 1975. In early 2000s, Rituparno Ghosh was a significant editor of this magazine. However, the editorial board has now been changed. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (July – December 2007), the total circulation was 76,686. The National Readership Survey 2006 cited readership at 6,78,000. ''Anandabazar Patrika'' (Bengali: আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকা, ) is an Indian Bengali-language daily newspaper owned by the ABP Group. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, it has a circulation of 1 million copies as of December 2019. Its main competitors are ''Bartaman'', ''Ei Samay'', and ''Sangbad Pratidin''. History A Bengali newspaper was published in 1876 in a small village of Magura at Jessore District in British India (now Bangladesh) by Tushar Kanti Ghosh and his father Sisir Kumar Ghosh. They named it ''Ananda Bazar'' after Tusharkanti's grandmother's sister Anandomayee. However, soon the newspaper died. In 1886, Ghosh published another newspaper, named after his grandmother Amritamoyee: ''Amrita Bazar Patrika''. Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta
Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta () is a Bengali musician and exponent of Rabindra Sangeet. Early life Dasgupta was born into a musical family, the daughter of Late Shri Pabitra Dasgupta, a lecturer at Bhatkhande Marris Music College in Lucknow, who trained her in pure Hindustani classical music. Swagatalakshmi completed her M.A. in music at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. She received further training from Smt. Maya Sen, an expert on Rabindra Sangeet. Swagatalakshmi subsequently worked at Rabindra Bharati University for two years as a lecturer. In 1985, Swagatalakshmi won the All India Singing Talent Contest, leading her towards the musical profession. ''Chokher Bali'' ( sand in the eye, constant irritant) is a 2003 Indian Bengali language drama film based on the 1903 novel '' Chokher Bali'' by Rabindranath Tagore. It was directed by Rituparno Ghosh in 2003 and stars Aishwarya Rai as ''Binodini'' and Raima Sen as ''Ashalata''. ''Ashalata'' and ''Binodini'' refer to each other as ''Chokher Bali''.
