Common effects include distortion/overdrive, often used with electric guitar in electric blues and rock music; dynamic effects such as volume pedals and compressors, which affect loudness; filters such as wah-wah pedals and graphic equalizers, which modify frequency ranges; modulation effects, such as chorus, flangers and phasers; pitch effects such as pitch shifters; and time effects, such as reverb and delay, which create echoing sounds and emulate the sound of different spaces. ''Analog Man'' is the eleventh and latest solo studio album by the American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joe Walsh, formerly of the James Gang and lead guitarist for the Eagles (band), Eagles. The album was released in mid 2012, on the label Fantasy Records, Fantasy in the United States and the United Kingdom, It is also his first new solo studio album to be released since 1992's ''Songs for a Dying Planet'', 20 years prior.
