Anagnostis Petimezas
Anagnostis Petimezas ( el, Αναγνώστης Πετιμεζάς, 1765-1822) was a Greek revolutionary leader during the Greek War of Independence. He was born in 1765 in Soudena near Kalavryta and was descended from the Petmezades family. He was the son of Sotiris, brother of Athanasios which he in Voussoka. He took part in the battles of Kalavryta, Acrocorinth, Tripoli where he was a mandate of Theodoros Kolokotronis, etc. He was assassinated with his son Sotiris in a Turkish ambush at Vasiliko near Sikyona and Corinth in 1822 as he was on his way to fight against Dramali Pasha. Mahmud Dramali Pasha
Dramalı Mahmud Pasha, (Turkish: ''Dramalı Mahmut Paşa''; c. 1770 in Istanbul – 26 October 1822, in Corinth) was an Ottoman Albanian statesman and military leader, and a pasha, and served as governor (''wali'') of Larissa, Drama, and the Morea. In 1822, he was tasked with suppressing the Greek War of Independence, but was defeated at the Battle of Dervenakia and died shortly after. Early life and career Mahmud was raised and educated at the Topkapi Palace at Istanbul. He participated in various campaigns throughout the Empire, rising to the rank of vizier and acquiring significant military skills. Enjoying the patronage of the Valide Sultan, he was eventually posted in his family's home province of Drama, succeeding his father Melek Mehmed Pasha as governor. Kalavryta ( el, Καλάβρυτα) is a town and a municipality in the mountainous east-central part of the regional unit of Achaea, Greece. The town is located on the right bank of the river Vouraikos, south of Aigio, southeast of Patras and northwest of Tripoli.
