Ana Rendón
Ana María Rendón Martínez (born March 10, 1986) is a Colombian recurve archer. She has competed in the Olympic Games three times and is a two-time gold medalist at the Pan American Games. Career 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Rendón finished her ranking round with a total of 647 points. This gave her the 10th seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Elena Tonetta in the first round. Both archers scored 106 points in the regular match, but in the decisive extra round Rendón scored 10 points against 9 for Tonetta and advanced to the next round. There she won with 110-106 against Miroslava Dagbaeva. In the round of 16 she could only score 95 points and as her opponent Khatuna Lorig scored 107 points Rendón was eliminated. Danzandorjiin Miroslava born Miroslava Dagbaeva (born 14 August 1987) is a Buryat Mongol athlete from Mongolia who competes in archery (since 2013). Career 2008 Summer Olympics She represented Russia at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Miroslava finished her ranking round with a total of 637 points. This gave her the 23rd seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Rina Dewi Puspitasari in the first round. Both archers scored 106 points in the regular match and had to go to a decisive extra round to make the difference. Miroslava scored 10 points in the extra round, while Puspitasari scored 9 points. Elena Tonetta
Elena Tonetta (born 8 June 1988 in Rovereto) is an Italian archer. In 2005, she was the Junior European Champion, winning at Silkeborg (Denmark). She won the second place in the final of the Junior World Cup, at Mérida (Mexico) in 2006. Recurve (bow)
In archery, a recurve bow is one of the main shapes a bow can take, with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow. A recurve will permit a shorter bow than the simple straight limb bow for given arrow energy, and this form was often preferred by archers in environments where long weapons could be cumbersome, such as in brush and forest terrain, or while on horseback. Recurved limbs also put greater stress on the materials used to make the bow, and they may make more noise with the shot. Extreme recurves make the bow unstable when being strung.
