Ana María Picchio
Ana María Picchio (born March 30, 1946 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentina, Argentine actress. She made her debut in 1969 in the film ''Breve cielo'' and has made over 50 appearances in film and TV to date. For her role in ''Breve cielo'' she won the award for Best Actress at the 6th Moscow International Film Festival. and twice the Silver Condor Award for Best Actress, in 1970 and 1987. In 1974 she was also starring in Mario Benedetti's The Truce (1974 film),submitted to the Academy Awards (the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film) and won a nomination (the first Academy Award nomination in Argentine film history). The film has since gained cult status in Argentina. She was awarded the Konex Award in 1981 and 1991. She won nine nominations and won the Martín Fierro Awards in 1990 and 2016. The Buenos Aires Underground ( es, Subterráneo de Buenos Aires, links=no), locally known as Subte (), is a rapid transit system that serves the area of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first section of this network (Plaza de Mayo–Plaza Miserere) opened in 1913, making it the 13th subway in the world and the first underground railway in Latin America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the Spanish-speaking world, with the Madrid Metro opening five years later, in 1919. As of 2022, Buenos Aires is the only Argentine city with a metro system. Currently, the underground network's six lines—A, B, C, D, E, and H—comprise of routes that serve 90 stations. The network is complemented by the Premetro line, and the Urquiza suburban line, with 17 more stations in total. The film was selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 59th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. It tells the story of a group of people who left Argentina because of the military dictatorship of 1976-1983 and emigrated to Paris. The group decides to stage a tango ballet in honour of singer and composer Carlos Gardel. In a survey of the 100 greatest films of Argentine cinema carried out by the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken in 2000, the film reached the 15th position.
