An Horse is an Australian indie rock band, originally from Brisbane, Australia. The band is a duo, composed of Kate Cooper on guitar/vocals and Damon Cox on drums/backing vocals. To date, An Horse has released three full-length albums: ''Rearrange Beds'' (2009), ''Walls'' (2011), and ''Modern Air'' (2019). History Becoming An Horse Kate Cooper and Damon Cox met while working at an independent record store called Skinny's in Brisbane, Australia. They began making music together in 2007, and set up a PA in the store, where they would rehearse after-hours and organise shows in the Brisbane area. 2007–2008: Not Really Scared The band's first recording was a 5 song EP, ''Not Really Scared'', which was released by local Brisbane label Valve. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. Bishop Allen is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, United States. The band's core members are Justin Rice and Christian Rudder, who are supported both on stage and in the studio by a rotating cast of musical collaborators. The band was formed in 2003 and grew out of Rice and Rudder's friendship; it takes its name from Bishop Allen Drive in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the two lived together after attending Harvard University. The Appleseed Cast is an American rock band from Lawrence, Kansas. The band was founded in the early days of emo by singer-guitarist Christopher Crisci and drummer Louie Ruiz. Magoo is the professional name of Lachlan Goold, a multi award-winning Australian music producer based in Brisbane, Queensland. After working briefly in mechanical engineering, Magoo began in music as a live sound engineer, touring nationally before producing seasoned local Brisbane bands the Dreamkillers and Pangaea in the early 1990s.
