Joel Gallen
Joel Gallen (born September 29, 1957) is an American television and film director, producer, screenwriter, and founder and president of Tenth Planet Productions. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and currently serves on the University's Harrington School of Communication and Media Executive Advisory Board. Gallen has produced and directed many live television events and has won numerous awards, including an Emmy, Peabody, PGA and DGA award for producing and directing '' America: A Tribute to Heroes'' immediately following the 9/11 attacks. "Top of the World" is a contemporary folk-country song written by Patty Griffin and most known as recorded and performed in Grammy Award-winning fashion by the Dixie Chicks. Griffin wrote and recorded "Top of the World" in 2000 for '' Silver Bell'', but a dispute with her label A&M Records caused Griffin to be dropped and the album to go unreleased for 13 years. In the meantime, copies of ''Silver Bell'' circulated and increased Griffin's reputation as a songwriter within the music industry.
