Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Musart Records
Discos Musart is a Mexican record label founded in 1948. It is headquartered in Mexico City and remains one of the country's biggest labels, focusing on Mexican music, as well as international releases licensed from various labels around the world. Over the years it has had several imprints such as Trebol, Oasis and Balboa Records. During the 1950s, Musart distributed albums by Cuban label Panart in Mexico. Until Capitol Records opened in Mexico in 1965, recordings by The Beatles were released by Musart Records in Mexico. Capitol re-releases now sometimes use completely different covers so detecting whether a Capitol version is actually an original Musart album or not can be difficult. Musart was acquired by Concord Bicycle Music (now Concord) in 2016. Juguemos A Cantar
''Juguemos a Cantar'' (''Let's play singing''), was a children's competition festival that was held yearly in Mexico City beginning in 1982. Televisa produced this show, and it was transmitted on the program, ''Siempre En Domingo'', which was hosted by Raúl Velasco. This competition was developed to seek out young talent, and was open to all Mexican resident children up to the age of 13. Juguemos a Cantar was first and foremost a "Festival De La Canción" (Festival of the Song), meaning that the songwriter and the song itself is celebrated along with the performer. All songs performed in the competition were required to be original, and the song writing is judged, as well as the artist performance. The popularity of its first transmission in 1982 made it one of the most important talent Festivals in all of Latin America. Raúl Velasco
Raúl Velasco Ramírez (April 24, 1933 – November 26, 2006) was a Mexican host/ producer of the TV show ''Siempre en Domingo'' (''Always on Sunday'') which is his hallmark contribution to the Latin American world and eventually to other parts of the world where Spanish entertainment programs are broadcast. Velasco began this program as co-host of a Sunday afternoon special in 1969 called ''Domingos Espectaculares'' (''Spectacular Sundays''). One of his catch phrases was, "Aún hay más" ("There's more to follow"). For a short while, ''Siempre en Domingo'' was known as ''Aún hay más'' because he would always say these words prior to each intermission or commercial, with the hand gesture that corresponds to a request for a commercial break, similar to what Frank Sinatra might have said or sung, ''The best is yet to come. . .'' Lucero (actress)
Lucero Hogaza León (; born 29 August 1969) is a Mexican singer and entertainer. She is a multi-platinum singer in Mexico and has sung in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Lucero has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. She is often referred to as ("The Americas' sweetheart"). As a child she starred in the popular Mexican children shows '' Alegrias de Mediodia'' and '' Chispita''. She went on to release a series of successful albums.
