Marcus Vinicius (consul 19 BC)
Marcus Vinicius (also spelled Vinucius) was a Roman senator and general, who held a number of posts in the service of the first Roman emperor, Augustus. Vinicius was suffect consul in the latter part of 19 BC with Quintus Lucretius Vespillo as his colleague. Career Born the son of a Roman knight at Cales in ''Regio I'' (''Latium et Campania'') of Italia, Vinicius distinguished himself as ''legatus Augusti pro praetore'' or governor of the imperial province of Gallia Belgica in 25 BC, when he led a successful campaign into Germania. At some point, Vinicius may also have served as governor of the senatorial province of Achaea; an inscription from Corinth, dated to 18–12 BC and honoring his fellow-general, and the Emperor's right-hand man, Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, reveals that an administrative division of the city had been named the ''tribus Vinicia'', apparently in Vinicius' honor. In recognition of his services, Vinicius, the archetypal ''homo novus'', was appointed suffe ...

He was present for the trial, as his name appears as one of seven witnesses of the '' Senatus consultum de Cn. Pisone patre'', the Roman Senate's official act concerning Piso's trial and punishment. In 30, Vinicius was appointed to the consulship, which he held with Lucius Cassius Longinus. In the same year, Velleius Paterculus published his ''Histories'', which he dedicated to Vinicius. Julia Livilla
Julia Livilla ( – ) was the youngest child of Germanicus and Agrippina the Elder and the youngest sister of the Emperor Caligula. Life Julia Livilla was the youngest great-granddaughter of Emperor Augustus, great-niece and adoptive granddaughter of the Emperor Tiberius, sister of the Emperor Caligula, niece of the Emperor Claudius, and through her eldest sister Agrippina the Younger, maternal aunt of the Emperor Nero. In most ancient literary sources, on inscriptions and on coins, she is simply called "Julia". It is possible that she dropped the use of her cognomen after the '' damnatio memoriae'' of her paternal aunt Livilla (sister of Germanicus and Claudius) after whom she was named. However, on her sepulchral inscription, she is explicitly named "Livilla, daughter of Germanicus", which suggests that in her time she was called either "Julia" or "Livilla". She was born on Lesbos, one of the many Greek islands during her parents' grand tour of the eastern Mediterranean ...
