Amy Potomak
Amy Potomak (born June 25, 1999) is a Canadian-born women's ice hockey player who was named to the Canada women's national ice hockey team roster that competed against the United States in a pair of contests on December 13 (in Plymouth, Michigan) and December 20 (in Sarnia, Ontario). The series against the US was Potomak's debut with the national team. Playing career At the 2014 British Columbia Winter Games, Potomak emerged with the gold medal. At the 2014 Stoney Creek Jr. Showcase, she was the event's leading scorer. She was a member of Team BC's women's ice hockey team at the 2015 Canada Winter Games. Team BC finished the event in sixth place. On November 24, 2016, it was announced that Potomak would affiliate with the West Hawks, a midget boys team from the BC Major Midget League Valley. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. IIHF World Women's U18 Championships
The IIHF Women's World U18 Championship, officially the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship, is an annual ice hockey tournament for national women's under-18 (U18) ice hockey teams, administrated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It is the junior edition of the IIHF Women's World Championship and participation is limited to female ice hockey players under 18 years of age. Kaleigh Fratkin
Kaleigh Fratkin (born March 24, 1992) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player with the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). The third-longest tenured player and leading scorer among defenders in PHF history, she was the first Canadian player to sign a contract in the league, is a four-time PHF all-star, and is a two-time PHF Defender of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She was also a member of the Boston Pride roster that captured the 2021 and 2022 Isobel Cup. Previous to the joining the NWHL, she won the Clarkson Cup in 2015 and was the first girl to play boys' midget AAA hockey in British Columbia. Sarah Potomak
Sarah Potomak (born December 19, 1997) is a Canadian ice hockey player who competed with the Under-18 Canadian national women's hockey team. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2015 4 Nations Cup, held in November 2015 in Sundsvall, Sweden. Along with her sister Amy Potomak, they are the first sister duo named to the roster of Canada's national women's ice hockey team. The two played together in a two-game series against the United States national women's ice hockey team in December 2016.
