Amy Honey
Amy Honey is a Canadian singer-songwriter from West Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia. Background and career Over the years, Honey has formed a number of bands, including the ladyrock extravaganza known as Clover Honey, which toured Canada several times and won CITR radio's prestigious "Shindig Battle of the Bands" in 1999. Honey formed her own band in 2002 and recorded her self-titled debut CD with Scott Henderson at S.O.S. Studios. Honey toured Canada in support of her debut album, sharing the stage with Howe Gelb and Mr. Airplane Man. She has also played shows with such diverse performers as Carolyn Mark, Jenny Whiteley, Chris Brown, Andrew Vincent, The Willowz, Po' Girl, Chet, The Doers, Ida Nilsen, Blood Meridian, Veda Hille, Hank Pine & Lily Fawn, 20 Miles and BJ Snowden. ''Blood Meridian'' was a Canadian alternative country band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The band consisted of singer and songwriter Matt Camirand, guitarist Jeff Lee, keyboardist Shira Blustein, bassist Kevin Grant and drummer Joshua Wells. Camirand had been with The Black Halos, He and Wells were also members of Black Mountain and Pink Mountaintops; Wells was a member of Lightning Dust as well. Ida Nilsen is a Canadian indie pop singer-songwriter and musician. She has been a member of the bands Radiogram, The Violet Archers, The Beans, The Gay, The Buttless Chaps and The Choir Practice, and has appeared as a guest musician on albums by P:ano, Jerk With a Bomb, Antoine Bédard, Montag and Veda Hille. She formed her own band, Great Aunt Ida, in 2003. That band released its debut album, ''Our Fall'', in 2005. Po' Girl
Po' Girl is a Canadian music group whose style derives from folk, country and jazz. The band evolved from a series of jam sessions, in 2000, between Trish Klein of The Be Good Tanyas and Allison Russell, then of Fear of Drinking. The two met up again in 2003 and named themselves Po' Girl. Klein said at the time that the new group offered her the opportunity to write and perform her own songs. Po' Girl recorded their last album in 2010, but the members' musical careers have continued to develop, either as soloists or in other bands. Once based in Vancouver, Po' Girl is now back in the Eastern cities of Toronto and Montreal. The Willowz are an American garage punk rock band from Anaheim, California. The band was formed in 2002 when Richie James Follin (guitar and lead vocals) and Jessica Reynoza (bass and vocals) were both 18 years old and attending the same college.
